If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I have been working with a local dealer to purchase the telluride sx and they quoted us 52,000 when looking at the quote they added an extra 4K on it called it market adjustment, does anyone know if that’s for the prestige package with awd or is that something the dealer is adding on because it’s a hot vehicle right now?

Dealers adding mark ups because there is more demand thasupply. As many people may tell you here, don’t not pay any mark ups. There are a few dealers (a few on this forum) that may order for you at MSRP if you are ok waiting!

advise is to go on Kia’s website and get familiar with msrp of the different trims and options.

AWD is 2k option and prestige package is 2k options.

Where are you located?

im located in california, when I went on kias website to price the one we want it was around 46k thats with the prestige package and have to add the AWD. If I go through a credit union do you think that might be alot better since they order the vehicle you want and were fine with the waiting period for the vehicle we really want.

I’m not familiar with how things work with credit unions to be honest.. so will not comment on that!

Capitol Kia in San Jose and hilltop Kia (Richmond) will order at MSRP without any markups. Hilltop is a smaller dealership which means their allocation from Kia might also be small... I’m not sure If Capitol Kia is a volume dealership! I was told that wait time there is between 3-6 months.

I have done a lot of reach in Bay Area (And even further out) and markups are out of control. I even saw a 14.9k mark up :)

its crazy how that works, we really havent vested alot of time looking into out previous cars but now were starting to research the car we want, I will reach out to Capitol Kia and see what they say, I received a quote from Stevens Creek Kia and that was on the quote.

I had a bad experience with Steven creek.. I once stopped by and when I questioned the mark up.. the guy refused to let me test drive the car!

I have texted with some else there and would not budge on mark up.. in all fairness he gave me $500 off on mark up lowering it from 6k to 5.5k ... what a deal :)

I called Oakland Kia, Vacaville Kia, Stockton, Merced and so on.. no one would budge on mark ups.

I was lucky with hilltop Kia because I called them a while back and asked them to call me if anyone cancelled their orders and they did last week..someone ordered exactly what I wanted and cancelled so I put a deposit down!

I will call around and see what I find, I sent Capital Kia a message and stated I want to order the vehicle and make sure not to pay the markup, that markup is crazy my wife was about to cry over it after the other guy sent us the quote, Im hoping we can at least order the car we don't mind waiting for it unless they can take off the markup (which probably wont happen), thanks for the information I appreciate it

Stay strong! DON'T PAY THE MARK UP! I know it sucks to wait. But you all can do better with the authorized dealers here in the forum that don't do mark-up.

Just my .02

Good luck! Capitol Kia confirmed to me that there are no mark ups .. and hilltop Kia ( I have an order with them charged no mark ups)!

just make sure you don’t get sucked into the hype... Markups are not worth it on a depreciating asset, especially when it is mass produced..

That one was happened to me but I have no choice coz I have a trade in car with loan, I rather to wait on the first time but , my trade in car will depreciate more the value if im going to wait and order online, I got my SX similar on that amount , $52k but the mark up was equivalent to 5 year protection for exterior and interior, one of the dealer had 1 stock, that I want, ended up got that one coz I need also vehicle, for family use. If you are willing to wait, much better to save more.
