• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi all. I recently purchased a lightly used (13k miles) verified 2021 SX-P. I found a number of small adhesive wire clips near battery, on underside of hood, and one in driver door jamb. Any thoughts as to what the prior owner could have been doing here? Oddly they were careful enough to use black clip on black surface and white clips on white surfaces. Seems they needed to get wires under hood, inside cabin (?), to battery, etc. Does not matter just a mystery to me that has left me perplexed.

Given the low miles maybe they had some sort of battery maintainer when they weren’t planning to drive it for a while and just mounted it in the hood and that’s for wire management near the battery? Sort of like a semi-permanent battery charger that can be shutoff when driving but then plugged in only when charging for extended periods of non-use.

So you know there not oe, everything else is speculation. I have trickle chargers directly wired in on 2 of my cars. It's just a few leads directly wired into the terminals with a connector that plugs in to the charger. Not sure how these would come into play? My initial guess would be they are grabbing a 12 v power source for something but the routing makes no sense to go through a firewall.

If the clips are also on the other side on the hood, could have been power supply for ditch lights. If they are only on one side, maybe they removed from one side but forgot for the other. There would possibly be wear on the exterior hood where the ditch lights contacted the paint if my theory is correct.

This is by the far the most logical answer so far. This has been bugging me. There were clips on both sides of the hood so this feels like it. There was also a piece of Velcro on the lower dash (above where the phone charger is) so maybe that is where a switch was mounted and maybe they used the lighter for power. Based on the clip in the door jamb I think they went that way into the cabin as there is no evidence of another path through the firewall. Thanks for the best guess so far!

This is like watching Unsolved Mysteries. I always get hooked in until the end and then I realize its unsolved. :sneaky:
