• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... So this is something I noticed since new but haven’t had the time to check up on it. I have an EX with a 2nd row bench, but the larger side (drivers side) doesn’t auto-slide forward when I push the button, on the top shoulder-area, it just folds flat. The passenger side works as it should sliding forward and tilting forward about 45 degrees. Can someone with a bench seat confirm for me that both sides slide and tilt? The button certainly indicates that it does but it just folds flat like it would if you hit the button in the rear by the lift gate. I’d be kinda pissed if the motor was already malfunctioning from the factory. Thanks in advance!

I test drove an EX on Monday and the bench on the driver's side slid forward with both the top and bottom buttons

I just went out and checked my EX, the button on top moves the seat forward, the recline lever near lower side seat is used to make it go flat down on both sides. You use both buttons. Hope that helps, it is simple to do.

That helps thank you. The drivers side on my won’t slide forward unless you do it with the bar underneath so it must be defective. I have an appointment at the dealer on Friday for them to look at it. I was looking around and the electronic module for the power seat appears to just bolt on to the bottom of the seats in back, should be an easy repair if needed.

Ok so I fixed the rear seat myself and wanted to post the fix in case anyone else runs into this issue in the future. To recap: the rear driver side of the bench on my EX would not slide forward with either of the buttons on side of the seat. When one of them buttons would be pressed it would simply fold flat and would require another button push to unlock it to be placed upright again. Since I had limited time and didn’t feel like sitting at the dealer for a few hours today I decided to mess around and see if I could find an unhooked cable or a similarly easy fix. I removed the straps from the bottom that hold the seat back cover in place and like magic the seat started working every time. As I was looking at the underside of the seat it appears that one of the clips was clipped to the bar underneath AND the cable that pulls the slide release. I put the straps back in place with the cable now free and it works like new. Hopefully this saves someone else a trip to the dealer!!

My new LX is doing the same exact thing. Took a cursory look an too suspected the straps but no deep dive. Will take that plunge tomorrow. Great information!! Thanks
