  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... New member from SoCal looking for the elusive SX that won't require a dip in the kids' college fund. =)

The shear number of dealers here providing their marked up prices with a straight face should give Kia some pause. It can't be good for the brand.

Welcome! I'm sure you'll find some good info here.

If you're looking to avoid the ridiculous SoCal markups, and can wait a few months, you might consider ordering from a dealer out-of-state or from a couple of dealers up in NorCal. A name you will see around this forum, Stephen Cantrelle (Classic Kia Carrollton, Carrollton TX), has helped a number of Telluride Forum people get their Tellurides.

There are lines of people waiting to get their orders in for SX Tellys, but it can be done.

I just got mine, three and-a-half months from the day I placed the order with the dealer (Hilltop Kia, Richmond CA).

There were a stack of customers ahead of me when I put down a small deposit with the dealer, so it took a while for me to get into Kia's ordering system, but in the end it was all worth it.

Good luck! :)

Thanks for the info. I saw the post from Stephen in the Dealer section. I've been reading through the other 'What did you pay...' post for info as well. I did see Hilltop Kia mentioned a bit as well. Did you get MSRP at Hilltop?

I have no problem ordering and having to wait a bit. I'll probably give them a call in the morning.

Yes. MSRP + tax, title.

I appreciate that Hilltop Kia doesn't have any tacked-on last-minute surprise charges like the "nitrogen in tires" scam or "etching the VIN on windows" nonsense. Also, luckily, the "documentation" fee in CA isn't too crazy. The New Jersey and Florida doc fees are steep.

If you're going with Hilltop, I highly recommend getting in touch with Carlos Orozco, Sales Manager, who worked with me from start to finish, giving me a number of helpful, informative updates by phone while I was waiting to get into KFOS, and Lewis Belt, Internet Sales Consultant, who helped me order accessories, receive the Telly, and finish the deal on the big day. Definitely give either of them a call, or Stephen.

It's always nice to work with good people.

My family bought 3 tellurides from @Moe at Richmond Kia. I recommend you reach out to him ASAP (510) 230-9198!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for singing up. I'm glad you found us! What might the Telluride be replacing for you?

We are replacing my wife's 12 yr old Mazda 5 that was on it's last mile.

As fast as our search began, it ended. I somehow found the only dealer in SoCal that would sell for MSRP. I received an email this morning before I was going to call Hilltop and it said they would sell for MSRP. I was skeptical so I called and had them send me a formal quote. After driving down they did have some $1200 paint protector on the quote that wasn't in the one they sent me. I said I didn't want it and wouldn't pay it and they took it off. At first they quoted a higher interest rate than the 1.9 @ 66 mo. offered by Kia and I said that 1.9 is the rate I wanted and they changed that as well. They tried to maximize their profits like any other dealer, but in the end honored their MSRP quote. Got the white SX my wife wanted. It doesn't have the tow package I was looking for, but given the condition of her old car we figured it's better to have a new car now than wait for an order. I'll add a tow hitch later.

The sales person I worked with said they would sell their Tellurides this week for MSRP (I guess it's been slow). I was going to post their info in the one of the other forums.
