If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi everyone, new to this forum and so glad to have found it. This might be appropriate on the bad dealer topic but figured I’d introduce myself as well. I’m in the northwest suburbs of Illinois and was about to put an order/deposit for a SXP order at Schaumburg Kia today. I had an idea of what my OTD price should’ve been based on my build but the dealers number was slightly higher. When asked to see the itemized list, he said their printers broken. So, I took my calculator out and did the math together but his number was $400 higher. He initially said it’s taxes which didn’t make any sense since we just calculated the taxes. I asked him to go take a picture of the screen (since the printer is ‘broken’) and he comes back and the $400 different is from a line for “Aftermarket add’l”. When I asked him what that was, he said it’s for VIN etching which is mandatory for all Bob Rorhman dealers. I told him I didn’t want that and didn’t want to add anything additional to the car. After long drawn out back and forth, he offered one free oil change to help offset the $400. I walked out.

To add, he tried to sneak that fee in and play it off as ‘few dollars to my monthly payment’ is no big deal. It’s not that $400 above what I was trying to pay that made me walk out but it was the way they tried to hide it. That being said, any other dealers that you’d recommend in Illinois? Even considering out of state since I know exactly what build I want. Any help is appreciated! Even though reading this forum has already been super helpful!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Sorry to hear about that bad experience with the dealership. Check out the "How To Buy a Telluride" section for suggestions on where best to buy near you.

Sorry to hear that! So many dealerships are taking advantage of the popularity with this car its crazy, but this forum can help in many way you are not the only one who has dealt with crazy dealers! Kia in berwyn was the same but the price was much higher, but it wasnt until i cane to this forum when i found a better spot.this should be right up your alley... clasic kia in Waukegan Illinois salesperson that I did deal with his name is John plewka. No games plus no upcharge over msrp! Plus they keep you updated through the whole ordeal..you can make your build at home if you like or when you get there make the build with him!

Also, the finance guy at Classic was a straight shooter. He told us about warranty options but was in no way pushy and didn't even suggest any VIN etching, Paint Protection, etc.

Who was your salesman if you don’t mind me asking? I used Schaumburg Kia mid april and got a printout, also at msrp. my salesman’s name is Aldo and has been pretty helpful even gave me his personal cell phone number. im gonna Have a tough decision to make, expecting a gravity gray dune brown SX-P out of highland Indiana that i placed a couple weeks before Schaumburg (long story) basically highland didn’t give me any paper work just a deposit receipt and decided to go elsewhere (Schaumburg Kia) and ordered a moss green dune SX-P that was just submitted my salesman 2 weeks ago being my turn in line, but not sure if it was picked up yet. At this point it looks like since the Gravity gray will be getting in first that’s what I’m coming home with

I live in Naperville and If you don't mind a drive. I just placed an order on an incoming SX-p Telluride from Smart Kia in Davenport Iowa. They have 2 inbound Wolf Grey SX-P Nightfalls still with no deposit. They are also charging no markup over sticker. I couldn't believe it when he said they weren't charging any market adjustment. I dealt with Austin.

I was working with bill brennan. Younger guy, had a few good reviews on google so went with him. But he was clearly inexperienced and didn’t have much to offer. He even brought along another sales person (also named bill - older gentleman) to tell me that vin etching is required and tried to sell me on exterior/interior protection package for $800 which included a $400 off to help offset the vin etching. I laughed and walked. Will definitely try Classic Kia next. Will keep everyone posted!
