• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... New Telluride Prestige SX AWD Leaking during first rain and only 5 days old.

Well, the problem is back with a vengeance. Our usually garaged Telluride was out in the downpour last night and now it looks like this.

WOW! Sorry to see that happen to your ride. Hope they can make everything right for you. Keep us posted.

I'm not an owner yet. Sorry to hear this situation. Hope you get a resolution soon.

My 2015 Genesis has an extended warranty campaign by Hyundi for shattering panoramic roofs. I hate moonroofs or any glass over my head.

I much prefer the old Euro steel sunroofs which I never used. I wish I could option no moon roof on an SX.

ugh. I am so sorry to hear this and incredibly disappointed. I had huge issue with my brand new explorer in 2011, it was also a first year re-design. A lot of leaking, mold, all of it. I am sick to think it could happen again!

Would hope Kia quality team at the plant would ultimately take responsibility. One Kia Telluride sell feature is made in America and they allegedly test inspect drive every single vehicle including a heavy duty soaking machine to check for leaks. There is a YouTube video of the plant quality process.
Assume a complaint was also filed with Kia Corporate in addition to the Dealer. Wishing for a good resolution to the leaking roof owner.

19 days in the shop, got it back today. Kia ate all the costs, including rental car.

They were able to reproduce it by taking it thru car wash.

Part of the reason it took so long is that the regional manager of the service techs wanted to see the problem, so it waited for his schedule. Then they sent it out to a glass shop to do the work.

I‘m crossing my fingers that it’s fixed completely!

Not trying to revive an old thread per se (ok, maybe I am..) but is this all fixed and good @Ovibos?

I too have this issue but only during a heavy rain. I reached out to the dealership where I purchased my vehicle and they told me they would not be able help. They said this would require a body shop to investigate the water leak and my best bet was to contact Kia Consumer Affairs (1-800-333-4542). I did this and was told that I needed to bring my Telluride to a dealership to document the problem. Luckily for me, I have another Kia dealership not too far from me and they are willing to help. I also found on YouTube there is an issue with the plastic drip collectors under the roof and above the interior header.
. There apparently wasn't enough silicone applied to seal the collector to the roof, so this is where the leak occurs. I can't say this is entirely the issue and it's with every vehicle, but I will be sure to tell the service manager what I found. If this is indeed the case, I imagine they will clean up the existing silicone and add new. I will keep you posted on my ordeal.

If there is any chance you could share any documentation you have from the dealer it would be greatly appreciated. I went back to my dealer and they were unable to replicate the issue. Mine only leaks when there is a driving rain. My only other recourse is to by a GoPro camera and put it in the back when we are expecting a driving rain.

I had the dealership resolve my issue but wanted to wait before I posted anything. I wanted to be sure the issue was actually fixed. I've had my Telluride back for over three months and it appears the dealer got the problem resolved. It was due to a the improper seal of the panoramic sun roof from the factory. They had a auto glass company come in to remove the sun roof and redo the seal. It took them some time because they ordered a new sun roof in case the original broke upon removal. I didn't hear how the removal went but got my vehicle back after three weeks. We have had heavy rains since I picked it up and so far it has not leaked. I also noticed the interior no longer feels damp. I feel confident they have resolve this issue.

Picked up my used ‘20 Telluride EX on Saturday and we had our first torrential rain tonight. I had a wet headliner that seems to be wettest underneath the passenger visor. I’ve garaged it for the night, but plan to reach out to my dealer in the morning to investigate my options.

My wife’s VW Alltrack had gutters that get clogged around her sunroof and caused an issue. The dealer fixed that issue…. I’m hoping the same will be true for my very new to me, Telluride.
