• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I have 2022 EX FWD with 18" wheels. i have around 29k miles. Tires are already worn out. Trying to get new tires before i go on long drive during next weekend. Factory tires are Pirelli Scorpion Zero A/S. Any suggestions replace these? Hopefully there will be promotions going on. Thanks

I did sell tires at my shop. In my professional opinion, there's Michelin and then there's everything else. Albeit Michelin is most usually more expensive.
I do think your Pirelli's wore out WAYY too soon.

Tire Rack has a HUGE amount of resources available on their website. Read their testing (do not enter your car, rather enter the size and go to their tests. Watch the video's of wet and dry testing, read the customer reviews. Then clear your browsing history for Tire Rack, enter your vehicle this time and select the size for your car (18" or 20") and again see what the recommend and read the reviews.
Rebates and sales at Tire rack, Discount Tire (now owns Tire Rack) and Costco are very lucrative. Good luck!

I'm a Michelin guy, too. I have 8,000 miles on my Michelin CrossClimate 2's and returned yesterday from a trip making the full Olympic loop. Heavy rain at the beaches and rainforests, narrow bad roads in places, gravel in others, climb of 5.400 feet in driving in sun, rain, clouds to reach Hurricane Ridge and didn't skip a beat. Never felt them hydroplane ever and love the ride.

I am now almost at 80,000 miles on my CrossClimate 2's, with plenty of tread left. I'll replace them before winter here in Minnesota, just because I can't believe how long they've lasted. I've been extremely happy with them.

Will check Michelin ones.

Will go to Discount Tire and get quotes. Thanks

do we need CrossClimate 2's in South (TX)?
You get a lot of snow and ice there, right? :) Well, I suppose ICE has multiple meanings these days, not to open that can of worms. Anyway, I'm guessing that an All-Weather (not "all-season") tire like CrossClimates is probably overkill there, but I'll let others chime in on that.

Discount tire shows me MichelinDefender 2 ($255) and CrossClimate2 ($269) options for EX FWD. Down south, we should be good with Defender 2 right? Total cost is more than $1200+.

How about the Michelin Primacy Tour as an option? That's what came as stock with my vehicle. I liked them, except in snow.

I got the Pirelli Scorpion Weatheractive tires in August and have put about 15k miles on them since then. They are by far the best tires I've owned on any car for driving in wet weather. You can drive through heavier rain than you can safely see in and they just handle it. I don't drive a lot in snow or ice, but seem to always be in the rain.

It's notable that the Primacy's that I replaced lasted almost 90k miles which I was very happy with.

That's awesome! I got 45k out of mine. I think Michelin says 55k so 90k is amazing. I'm at 80k on my Crossclimates.

I drive mostly highway which I suppose is easier on tires and brakes. I just replaced my rear brakes for the first time at 102k. Front pads still have about a 1/3 left.

are crossclimates long lasting than defender 2? Do we need crossclimates deep down south (TX)?

I recommend going to TireRack - they have a ton of detail and comparisons online and then reading the comments from customers will help you answer your questions. It is a great resource that I always rely on when looking for new tires.

I rotate my tires every 5k miles. It may give you more miles on your tires

Hi robertabba0,

I am also in Texas, and I have the same problem/question as you. My 2022 EX AWD came with Michelin Primacy Tour 245/60 R18 105H, and all of them got 3/32’ at 30K. Apparently the heat in the south and rod condition make it bad pretty easily! I originally wanted to find the same tire (OE) but no one shop near me had stock for it. They all said that OE tires are difficult to get and nobody knows how long the stock will be resumed.

I am thinking Defender2 now since every shop has stock. Wondering what’s your final decision and how did it go?
