If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... noise under hood

Thanks for the encouraging info guys. I hope you are right. I still don't understand why they can't tell me
when the part will arrive. They should be able to overnight it from anywhere in the country. Unless it is
coming from Korea. Is the telluride engine used in any other KIA vehicles? One other thing I thought of
though. Did the bad pump leave metal shavings in the engine?

Dennis
I had an issue with our Genesis G80 Sport and the problem was so new that they did not even have the right tools to perform the work. Took 3 weeks to get the part from overseas in just to do the work. They made the repair over a year ago now and have not had any additional problems. Keep in mind that even if you buy a luxury brand you can get a bad one in the bunch. Even with as much automation goes into vehicle manufacturing there is still a human element to it. Be patient (I had a hard time with this on my Genesis because I was like how the heck do you sale a vehicle and not have the tools to repair it) and it will all work out in the end but still hold them accountable.

Where is the pump located? Is it inside the oil pan? I don't mean inside the pan, but do you gain access to it
by taking off the oil pan? Is it electric, or does it run off a cam of some sort? When I reved the engine the noise
sped up also.

Dennis

Firstly I would like to say that I’m sorry that you’re having this problem. About the pump; it’s not a dry sump system, so the oil pump would be enclosed within the oil pan. I believe Kia had oil pump/circulation problems a couple years ago and, unfortunately, that led to engine block overheating and fires. To gain access to the oil pump the oil pan typically comes off, and sometimes the engine has to be raised off the engine mounts or removed. I would want an engine oil analysis, and I would want to see the inside of the old pump. They may say no to tearing the old pump apart as they will probably send it back to Kia for inspection.
Take it one day at a time, and I hope this gets sorted out soon.

From my LAST BMW ..............................$100K X6 ................BMW buy back - LEMON !!

Yikes! This is why my BMW X3 M40i with only 4200 miles is gone. The reputation of unreliability killed all the fun of driving that car; never knew when you might get the warnings like you posted.

That happened 11 times ..................................That was the last straw ! goodbye BMW ( Buy More Warranty )

Too bad, I have one, just leaking a lot... I come from Europe, and BMW and MBenz are synonym for quality car! Those things were unbreakable (before all the tech and digital), I mean people would run them to death, you would have 300k km and would still be able to sell for great money. When I bought my 5 series, i thought that’s what I’m buying, quality German Engineering, problems I had weren’t that bad, and I paid it off, but at 120k I feel like everything will break apart, when I go to change oil, they want to do 10k of things, every hose and everything that touches oil they would replace.

Too bad because my 5 is driving like a champ and is the best looking sedan ever made.

What series is your 5 ...................e39 , e60 ??

Apparently the problem is not with the engine oil pump, but a pump in or on the transmission.
I'm now told that they will be getting that part or a whole transmission to replace it. I'm not
happy at all with this. If they replace the transmission, they will probably have to remove the
center console where the shifter is with all the other buttons and electrical wiring. This only adds
to the chance they will screw something else up. I'm contacting KIA to see if I can get a buyback.
KIA should have offered me a replacement vehicle instead of going through this shit. This screwed up
travel plans and caused me a lot of stress. I wonder what the trade in value is.

I had a transmission replaced in a $100K Audi under warranty. The tech would send me pics daily. (I think at one point there were more parts outside the car than in the car) Had full support of the factory. Never had a problem after that. Was buttoned up perfectly. Drove it 70K miles after that before selling it. Keep the faith, they will make it right for you.

got my telluride back with new transmission. So far so good on that problem. Now when I start the engine the driver side
ventilation turns on by default. This started happening after using the air conditioning for the first time. luckily I can turn it
off with the switch. Does anybody have any ideas on this one?

Are you talking about the ventilated seat? If so, its just a setting in the Uvo screen which you can turn off. Has nothing to do with the transmission being replaced. Its probably just warm enough now that it automatically turns on the ventilated seat.

No, I knew the transmission had nothing to do with it, but I thought it was a new problem. I disabled the auto
turn on of the seat vent. I wish you could do the same for the engine stop/start.

hahahahaha .....................are you going to be one of those people thats always going to have a problem ??:):):):):) everytime you have a problem solved you find a new one ....................c'mon , it all good !

Will definitely be interesting to see how many more transmissions or other problems will surface since Tellurides are just beginning to be sold in more numbers.

Ha, sounds like you have been monitoring the Subaru Ascent forums. Many problems with their CVT.
