Non Nightfall SX Prestige Waiting Room

Let's get a pulse of all those SXPs waiting for a vehicle and come to a consensus on sending this email.

Actually it doesn't have to be an SXP. Any seriously old order will do.

For those fearing our simple email will somehow disrupt Failcat...fear not as that information will not be disclosed. I don't really understand how the two are connected to be honest.

Many of us here believe Kia is well aware of FC and they are letting it continue as free marketing.

People literally stalk on FC and take hours out of their week to call dealers for inventory that dealers don't know about...can't get much better than that for Kia.

In my personal conversations with KIA management - I have never mentioned failcat. I have only used anecdotal information around my personal order (as well as others I have seen on this forum) and the reality that NFP vehicles keep popping up on cars.com daily that are being produced ahead of orders dating back to December and January of this year. If you are like me (and others) you don't need failcat to know that NFP's are being pumped out right and left ahead of SXP orders that have been growing stale by the day.

At this point - it is pretty clear KIA just doesn't care.

I just went through this with a home improvement company which will remain unnamed (L***e's). A seven month odyssey for money that was owed me and they basically had every excuse in the book. All the time they never denied the fact that they owed me. Found out that their processing agent was located in South America.... yes they sent jobs out of the country despite massive layoffs and unemployment here in the US. They never shut down or closed due to covid because they were/are essential. They supposedly had no recourse or influence over the processing agent... one excuse after another that despite calls, emails, bad customer reviews, social media blasts to their CEO... bottom line they did not give a flying F**k about my money or me being a long time customer. They provided the same as a middle finger as a resolution when I complained over and over. I finally got the $$ but wasted a huge amount of time and energy and emotion over it. Guess who I will never do business with again nor will any of my family or friends I have spoken with.
With KIA, I have an order with deposit since February 2020 and an entry into KFOS since mid July. I follow along mainly to see how long this is actually going to take to have my "order" made and delivered, but have moved on as far as my desire to deal with KIA. I believe KIA has shown their true colors so I have lost faith that they can provide repair parts or satisfactory resolution to known issues or warranty if needed. A 10 year warranty is useless if a Telluride specific component is not being produced because they cant even deliver the basic vehicle. I will hopefully not have to wait as long for them to give me my refund back as it does to fill this order but I will never know if I cancel right now. The dealer deposited my check immediately so it will be interesting to see how this all works out.

Feel free to use my info to help make the point. The only "timeline" I have is listed below in my signature. Been waiting since I gave my deposit in mid-October 2019!!!!!!

I feel frustrated and have only been waiting a month, can't imagine how the rest of you feel. Anyone know how to find the Kia factory rep's name in your area? They may be able to socialize the concerns of the SXP non nightfall group to Kia management and give some concrete answers.

I almost didn't bother ordering a Telluride after reading what the rest of you have been thru, I'll pull the plug after no seeing any production changes in the near future.

Well, I might be oldest order to not yet be in KFOS: January 7, 2020.
Apparently I just missed the September allocation at Muncie, who warned me there would be a very long wait when I ordered. No complaints about them.
I am patient, but not happy to see so many Nightfalls and so few SX-P's.

Your order date still shocks me. You went into KFOS the day after me - so I would think we would both get VINs this week or next.

It seems that KIA is producing high numbers of all trims except SXP. The only thing I can think of that is driving it is that they are currently advertising the NFP pretty heavily right now and don't want to get that model in the same situation as the SXP has been for the last year and a half. That said - they need to be producing a hell of a lot more SXP's than they are right now.

Yeah - from what I have read - Muncie had the longest waiting list of any dealer just to get into KFOS. Now that KIA changed their ordering practice of accepting orders right out of KDealer and KFOS at the same time - who knows what that means for your order. But at least you are getting it for less than MSRP.

I had started to wonder if KIA was going to phase out the SXP trim given how low production was...like they did with the SXL trim a couple years ago on other models. Then yesterday they introduced the Sorento and one of the trims is SXP. I hope they correctly anticipate demand on that SUV. I expect it will be a huge hit and if I were buying one - I would want the SXP or X-Line for sure. If we only had two kids - I would be getting a Sorento just because of the newer lighter platform and better power to weight ratio. Imagine the waiting lists on the X-Line...

My wait is still within the initial estimated timeframe BUT if don't make it in to the September KFOS then I expect to miss that.

Like others, the increase of Nightfall and lack of SX-P production is the primary concern.

My dealer was consistently seeing 7+ SX a month but that has reduced to only 3 a month for August and Sept. However, they have received 7 SX Nightfall during that same period.

6/10/20 - Ordered 2021 SXP Dark Moss / Dune interior with Towing

Curious that their SX inventory would drop in August and Sept. SX production has actually steadily increased this summer. Which is a good thing - but just further begs the question if they can increase SX (which has the same exterior as SXP) and NFP (which as the same interior as the SXP) production then there is no inventory issue that would limit SXP production. They have all the parts in the factory to build SXPs...they just choose not to.

Bingo. They have all of the parts. We can't sit here and say it could be supply chain issues with the HUD, or captains ventilated chairs...or the rims...

It's a choice they are making which is crazy!!

The Supply Chain excuse is just BS.

won't sorrento production cause Telluride production to go down? Same factory right?
