  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Looking for an Ebony black or grey nightfall Telluride that I can purchase before December 15. I'll be watching multiple sites, but just posting hey on case anyone sees one in Michigan or surrounding states. Please and thank you.

How much are you willing to spend? Getting one at MSRP within 3 months is not an easy feat - you'll likely have to order one from a dealership and hope it arrives in time (some people wait 2 months, others wait over a year - average I'd say is 3-6 months). It is possible to find an incoming one that the original ordering party backed out on, but you'll have to be very diligent to find one. If you're willing to pay a "market adjustment" of $5,000-$10,000 then you may be able to find one on a dealer lot available for immediate purchase.

  1. Go to the Good Dealer thread and look for dealerships around you that charge MSRP.
  2. Go to Failcat and search for those good dealers you found in the Good Dealer thread. Scroll through the list of incoming vehicles and find ones that match what you're looking for, and copy the VINs somewhere. Do the same on the dealers' websites.
  3. Call the dealerships you found the VINs and ask them if any of those are unclaimed. Most dealerships will probably say that none are unclaimed and that you'll have to order. You can then ask to be put on their waiting list to call if/when one does become available.
  4. Repeat this process every few days, or even every day.

You can get one at a dealer in my area, no problem. Well, there is that pesky $10,000 dealer markup above MSRP....... I've been there where they had four brand new Tellurides in the morning and sold all four that day for $10,000 over MSRP. Its like printing money.

If you want to just pay MSRP, get one ordered by a high volume dealer ASAP. Chances are, they will not be local, and it won't be quick either. When I ordered in July, I was told 16 to 20 weeks. That puts me close to your deadline, but I ordered two months ago.
