Order number till VIN assigned

Hey all..
I am hoping to find out whether I can determine where in the process our car is at.
Went to dealer and told
Then what we wanted (SX Prestige Wolf grey with terracotta)
They said that there is an Order in factory due on 3/6/23
But vin isn’t assigned yet.
When in the process will we get the vin number assigned?

The VIN is assigned when it goes into paint. Only the dealer can give you the schedule.

So the dealer can tell what step it is currently at?
Is there a high level “flowchart”?

The dealer has access to estimated dates for the build process. Others have posted them here on the forum. It's really up to the dealer if they want to divulge that information
