However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Order to delivery time

Any word yet on whether KFOS opened for September? It's about that time.

Yup that means it went into kfos. Doesn’t really mean they started making it, but kia has accepted your order and working on it. I attached a photo of mine when went to kfos you can check it. You now have an order number.
Thanks - I guess once it's in kfos then no modifications, like adding Nightfall?

Correct. In kdealer you can still modify. Kfos you cant. You’ll lose your spot in line. Good news is you’re getting closer to get your car, and as you mentioned you have an eta from now on.

Depends on the order though, based on what others have said here. If you’re were gunning for an SXP non-NE (for example), changing to a SXP NE may actually get you one faster, given how Kia is prioritizing certain models.

very true. the NE is the best way to go if you can't wait too long

They can’t change their order once they go into kfos. Even though NE might be faster, changing their order means Starting the whole process again not to mention if dealer gonna but them first in line or last since it’s a new order. Only Faster way is getting an allocation.

When I placed my order last week I was told that their experience is that NE is being filled in 3-4 months, non-NE can take up to 8 months.

found 1 Kia dealership in CT not doing markups and allowing orders, but told takes 6 months. My question is 6 months typical? Do you think the supply/demand will have cooled a little in 6 months, so maybe better deals and more choices avail by that point? SX Nightfall Prestige Gravity Butterscotch.

Nope. Everybody thought that might happen a year ago. Kia cant keep up with demand. I really doubt that would change in the next 6 months. Probably never. 6 months is still in the range, depending on dealer and trim order. Ive been waiting for 9 months, but covid had a big impact on that.

Pretty difficult to know what’ll happen in 6 months, but it sounds about right. If you’re in a position to wait, I’d put an order in and/or a deposit down. There’s another thread out there about Lev Kia in Mass that’s worth checking out and potentially inquiring with them

I doubt demand will settle down anytime soon. You have people trading in their luxury vehicles for Tellurides. If they do a refundable deposit, I would do that and just try to find one earlier. As far as timeframe depends on the volume. I was quoted 4-6 months and I should have mine in about 2 1/2. Also, I don't think you can get butterscotch with prestige.

yea just realized you cant get butterscotch, I thought since had black headliner it was prestige but I see it removes it, so only option is dune. Seems like a fail to not allow black headliner as an option or at least w/ black int.

@StephenCantrelle Could you verify the status of VIN 5XYP5DHC8MG119467 and that it is allocated to us? We changed our accessories shortly after ordering based on advice from dealer due to shortages so this build/dealer combo is our current exact order. Trying not to get too excited but feel a bit like a kid on Christmas morning hoping this big present is for me :)

If that’s you car then you’re getting an allocation. Smart move from dealer. All dealers here confirmed there aren’t any shortages. Second thought here, this might not be your order. If ordered Aug 31st this means the soonest they can place your order is Sept 15th then another 3-6 months to get the car. Hopefully it’s yours, just an allocation.

Welcome to the forum. You'll see more than a few New Englander's around. Feel free to reach out with questions. Not sure where in CT you are, but it was mentioned to you that some dealers in Mass are doing MSRP and are accepting orders. Typical wait time for that is ~4-6 months. MSRP is available in most states in New England you just have to work with some of the known "good" dealers.

The black headliner is avail with SX/Butterscotch or SX Prestige/Dune.

A couple great threads to view:

Good luck,
Rich

Stephen/DruKe, give me a few days to get a paypal acct set up!!

Just got an update from my dealer... ETA has been pushed from 11/18 to 12/9. I was planning a Christmas road trip, but that won't happen if I don't have my Telly yet. If the new ETA holds true, that'll put me at 8 months of waiting.

Just gotta keep repeating to myself that it'll be worth it... right? Right?!
