Hi, I wanted to purchase Telluride, and it has been out of stock near dealerships. Would you advise me how to order in advance? Should I work with a dealer?I placed my order on February 3rd. It is due in on April 19th. It was loaded onto the rail today. We shall see how long it tales to travel from Atlanta to Albuquerque via train and then transport to El Paso.

Your giving me hope that my new baby will be here sooner. Mine is an SX, accepted on 3/13, ETA of 5/28.Dealer contacted me yesterday and said the ETA for my 2/3 order was moved up to 5/17 (formerly 5/31). As of this morning I still don't see my car on Failcat.
I am a newbie but I will share what I think I have learned.Anyone know if the "created" date on Failcat indicates when the Telluride record is merely entered into the system, or actually built?
Thanks Christi, that's very helpful. I ordered the Telluride on 2/27, my "create" date was 3/25, but the dealer says it won't be with them until 5/7. Looking at some others posts, I feel lucky, as some waited much longer. Still impatient, though, and wishing I only had ten days to wait. I feel like a kid waiting on presents.I am a newbie but I will share what I think I have learned.
Created date seems to be when the VIN is created and the Telly begins being built. My Telly was accepted by Kia on Mar 13th. Not on failcat yet. This date was given to me by my dealership when I put down my deposit.
From stocking this site and my dealer, it appears to take about 2 weeks from create to the time the vehicle shows on my dealership's website as "in transit". I am assuming it takes 2 weeks to build.
Then it seems to take 2 to 4 weeks to show up at my dealership (Ohio).
I expect to have my Telly showing up on here within the next 10 days.
By 10 days, I meant the VIN on failcat. I won't see my Telly until end of May. It feels like the movie Groundhog Day with the anticipation of Christmas Eve.Thanks Christi, that's very helpful. Yes, we are in same boat as you. Ordered Wolf Gray/Black NF, EX, AWD 4/1/21. I haven't heard anything from dealer as far as ETA, VIN, etc.Just ordered GravityGray/Black, EX, AWD, Tow on 4/14/21 at MSRP. Not too worried about how long it will take but I'm hoping my order gets manufactured before the switch to the likely more expensive 2022.
Ideally, the 2022 details will be announced right after mine's built so I'll still have to option to change my order to the 2022 if we determine the price increase and extra wait time are worth it for some unexpected upgrades.Yes, we are in same boat as you. Not sure what side we will land 21/22...
Join the club...my sales rep keeps telling me he's looking into it...and never gets back. Well there’s a thread around here where folks said their dealer indicated that the April KFOS allocation was the last one for 2021 models. So if that’s true you’re looking at. 2022. Maybe #StephenCantrelle can chime in.Just ordered GravityGray/Black, EX, AWD, Tow on 4/14/21 at MSRP. Yep, seems that way.. I get that its a waiting game, and honestly not in a huge hurry, but they're answers are so vague...Join the club...my sales rep keeps telling me he's looking into it...and never gets back. I don't think they have much incentive to help you once they have your deposit.
Does this mean you would reject delivery and order a new one (2022) from scratch?Ideally, the 2022 details will be announced right after mine's built so I'll still have to option to change my order to the 2022 if we determine the price increase and extra wait time are worth it for some unexpected upgrades.
Very unlikely. Only if any 2022 upgrades were worth the expected price increase. Our deposit is fully refundable and the dealer made it clear that were could cancel without any hassle.Does this mean you would reject delivery and order a new one (2022) from scratch?
I’m in a similar boat since I learned today that mine was ‘just picked up’ by Kia.
