Order to delivery time

Reading this just makes me mad. Not at you but at Kia. I ordered moss SXP AWD 4/19 with a $1000 deposit. I have gotten nothing from my dealership. I'm going tomorrow to get my money back and shopping for anything but a Kia.

It’s your dealer not Kia. I herd but not sure if true. it’s not first come first serve.

Impossible to get built in 5 1/2 months? No updates or contact unless initiated by me? I have read several streams in this forum where the exact configuration I ordered was ordered months after mine and delivered. So either the dealer or the company, maybe both, don't deserve my business.

You should reach out to Kia Motors of America maybe they can help get some answers for you. I would do that first before giving up, you already put time in waiting.

We have found some dealers are saying they have ordered a vehicle when they simply are waiting on a unit like it to magically arrive. Big difference. I'd find out for sure.

I will stop raining on everyone's happy parade here. I'm not an owner anyway. I did try the Kia 800 number and all they did was call the gm at the dealership and their final suggestion was to shop elsewhere.

Yeah, you got the raw end of the deal here. Your dealer may never have actually ordered it and was just hoping for an allocation... but that would be terrible. Or maybe your dealer couldn't order from Kia for some reason. There were some problems - I had an order on May 3 which was updated with a 10/9 delivery recently - originally 8/24. I'm not taking delivery of that vehicle though... already acquired one. I don't know what happened with that order either. There may have been some production issues with AWD that slowed down delivery - Kia was looking into the Vibration issues. I believe that the side boards also were discontinued as a factory option and out of stock for a while. Who knows as you said - definitely frustrating. In any case, sorry for your experience. Best would be to try to re-order with a reputable dealer like Kia of Muncie - and leave out all factory options other than floor mats or tow.

We ordered a Gravity Grey / Grey Interior SXP on August 5th and still no build date. Dealer gave an estimate of 3 months and has been good about checking in.

Got my VIN today

To recap: Ordered a SXP AWD, Black Copper, Dune Brown,Tow on July 30th. Initial delivery estimate was Sept. 30th then it got moved to Oct. 6th, now could be Oct. 1st.

Where are you located? I'm very similar that that order and I ordered July 15th with an estimated delivery from the factory of October 15th.

Just got my VIN today. If it arrives as they expect I will be somewhere in between 149-155 days of waiting. I think I have more patience then brains. My 9 year old son would argue that, well at least the patience part....

How long from order date to VIN?

I ordered around May 20th. Order accepted around August 5th. On August 26th was given an ETA of October 12th. On September 16th they revised my ETA to October 6th. I asked them today for the VIN and he gave me a pic of the window sticker with VIN. So that should be somewhere around 140 days give or take, about 5 months for the whole process if everything goes right. Since order to now $1500 worth of incentives are gone and it's not October yet so that could still be worse.

I was debating on waiting until release of the 2021 models. With this long delay, by then the 2020's should be out of favor with incentives. Or, new models will be even better.
