About 5 weeks from Order to Delivery.
Chris Imler @ Freedom Kia of Morgantown, WV. Great service and no mark-ups.
Thats amazing - I just spoke to Chris this morning about ordering, and he said to count on 6-8 months. What was your configuration?

My dealer, Hendricks in Cary must do a pretty high volume. I was recently informed that their allotment went up to 40 in the last order cycle, but not sure what has been normal. Is there any sense out there that the conversion to 2023 is behind and now things are moving a bit faster? I'm told by my salesman that we are "continuing to advise people to expect a year... but our allotment went up so we are clearing out orders ahead of you". Ordered 3/12/22. Just looking for grains of hope we might be surprised with a significantly earlier delivery.

I ordered from them on 12/30/21. I just got an ETA for my car earlier this month and it should be here around 12/7/22. It showed up on Failcat on Friday. They were getting around 20-25 cars a month so it does seem like their allocation has gone up.

When I updated my order for the 2023 at the end of September I was #98 in line. Looks like they are clearing orders faster than before.

Thanks! So full year almost. One question how did you find out what number you were in line? My salesman seems to not provide that information.

We ordered ours at the same time. Only my dealer didn't update everyone's order to 2023... So I have to start over. I have been combing the web to find a dealer willing to sell at a few % over.

I wasn't getting that information out of the sales guy I worked with at first either. I was pushed over to the lady that is doing the internet sales because I was hounding my sales guy once I knew the 22's were done for production and wanted to know their process to switch my order for a 23. She seems to have better information and gave me the number of people ahead of me. She said she was the one re-entering all the orders once the order bank reopened, so I figured she was probably accurate with my place in line.

We were in the same boat… we ordered 3/11 and had to go in for a meeting on 10/08 to discuss why we haven’t even been given an ETA or VIN. We went through Gossett KIA in Memphis and they are high volume. We then had to order a 23 instead that same day. Well it was delivered on 11/16 and picked up 11/19. Keep hoping.. it’s well worth it, I can promise you that. Also, I got the attention of the regional sales manager to expedite my order. Try contacting people high up in the company!!!

This is what I've been wondering, if brand new orders are somehow getting ahead of "re-orders".

How would one figure out who the regional sales manager is? Is that through a network of the same dealer, or KIA?

From what I have learned, re-orders are getting mixed in with new orders. It really depends on the dealership. The regional sales manager is Terry Mahoney. His email is TMahoney@kiausa.com. You didn’t get this from me! Ha!

Thanks. Do you have the name oof the internet sales lady?

I do not. When you email him, explain how you have been pushed to the side and mistreated regarding your order. And that you want him to step in to help your dealership fix what they have done.

I think her name is Madeline. I deleted the email thread. The dealership sends me texts with updates more than emails.

Hendrick in Cary seems to do a pretty good job with keeping their customers in order by date. I know from here that people that ordered before me were getting their cars at a delayed rate as well. I watched failcat and their allocation was not as high over 2022 as it was in 2021.

Really appreciate that. One of the things I'm sure many on here have experienced, even those of us who think we're pretty patient, is anxiety about maybe something happened to our order or others are cutting the line at least at our dealership, or just any sort of problem that would lead to not only a very long wait, but an unfairly even longer wait, or worse an extended wait ending in a catastrophic fail leading to not getting the vehicle at all.

Hendricks must move a pretty high volume of Tellurides, probably because their mark-up is minimal and they hopefully do a decent job of managing all of those orders.

Ordered on 11/1/22 and my Telluride S showed up yesterday (11/27) at the dealer. Was originally told 90 days at the date we signed the custom order sheets. So must have pushed mine to the top of the dealer allocation. Purchased from Southlake Kia in Merrillville, IN.

Hey thanks for the update, I just found out my total wait time will be around 1 year and I was starting to wonder if my dealership messed something up, but I guess 1 year wait times are not that unheard of so I fell a bit better now :)

Ordered from Gossett South in Memphis 6/17/22. 2023 revision completed 10/13/22.

Showed up in Failcat today, 11/30/22. Dealer estimate deliver 12/17/22.

We placed our order on 10/25/22
Showed up on Failcat 11/23/22
Our ETA is currently 12/5 to 12/9
Foundation Kia - Wichita Falls TX

They had an ownership change about a year ago, and the dealer seems to think they are being treated like a "new" dealer, and their allocation may be up a little? Can't confirm that, but it's a theory...

My abbreviated saga is in my signature. I could write 3 pages about the drama leading up to this car. Fortunately, the last month had been a dream by comparison and my car is built, painted, and waiting to catch a ride to Texas!

-We placed our order on 8/13/22. Was given a estimated 8-9 month wait
-Order switched to a 2023 on 9/29/22
-Got the Vin and window sticker 12/1/22
-Car waiting for transport to dealer. ETA is 12/22/22
-Executive Kia - Wallingford CT

-Order still has not appeared on failcat
-Ordered a Wolf Grey SX X-Line at MSRP.

Curious if those making orders and getting quick fills paid significantly above sticker? Also wondering if most of the quick turnarounds are on X lines?

I just got an update from Hendricks in Cary NC that we're #139. This after ordering 8.5 months ago (March 22). We've been told to expect one year from our order (originally told 6-9 mos), which looks about right given our number in line. Seems like we'd have been better just walking in and ordering fresh in say August. But Hendricks is a minimal mark up dealer (added on about $1300 in mostly useless options). Some here have suggested that paying the $5K plus markup gets the car there quicker?

Anyways, I guess we just keep on waiting as others have done...

Personally, I am paying MSRP. So no markup. I also think I was able to get it much sooner because when the dealer was calling customers to switch to the 2023, the dealer only really had pricing and model names but no details as to what was included and so on. I think a lot of people decided to wait for kia to release the details on the 2023s before they called back and updated their orders. Me on the other hand changed my order as soon as i got the call without knowing all the details. So maybe my order got bumped up? I just knew I wanted the wolf grey SX with the nightfall which was equivalent to the X-line. But who knows.
