If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Order to delivery time

What's the website to look up Tellurides coming to local dealers? I remember someone posting the website before but can't seem to find it.

I have been checking the Kia website along with CarGurus and Edmunds on dealer inventory for the past month because I didn't want to place an order. We were interested in a SX AWD in either black or white. 2 Tellurides showed up last week (Monday, the 22nd) on Edmunds for a local dealer. I expected them to both be sold but after calling dealer they said one was an SX AWD white with black leather interior and surprising to both them and me, it wasn't spoken for. Dealer said both were "in transit" and expected delivery was 9/30. I gave them a $500 credit card deposit by phone and they just sent me a text and said it was here and ready to be picked up today. If we don't like the deal they propose we get our $500 back but I think we'll make the trade. I expect it will be MSRP minus the $1500 Kia cash but we'll find out.

EX-AWD, SWP/Grey w/o tow (SX was not an option. Our 3 GSDs said the captain's chairs weren't comfortable:))

Ordered May 18th
Received VIN June 16th
ETA July 14th, then Aug 3rd or 5th, then July 31st
Delivered July 29th.:)

You gave them a deposit without a purchase agreement on price? Expecting MSRP minus incentives? Let us know how that turns out... if so, then please share the dealer in a "good dealer experience!" Hope you can make a deal!

I will. Dealer gave me the VIN number and I was able to pull up and print out the window sticker showing all options and price. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I went to my dealer for my April 16th, SXP white/dune interior/no tow. He coincidentally was just about to call me (yeah, right), but our car has an actual date now... September 16th! 5 months from the order date.
The dealer let me see the actual paper that showed this information (and the info for ALL the telly orders at this dealership) because he could tell that I was getting frustrated. So for my car that has an MSRP of $46,930 (+ cargo mat and wheel locks) the dealer invoice price is $45,013. So there when the time comes I know there is up to $1900 that I can angle to get off.

As for a previous message that said the color was incorrectly indicated on their sheet, I asked the manager about this. He said that for every SXP that has been ordered there is a code that goes into the computer that automatically selects black as the interior. After that there is another code that has to be inputted to specify what color nappa leather you are getting, in my case its dune brown which is 022.

Long message, but for all the new orders you have no real ETA, regardless of what the dealer says. This guy told me since they opened up last week he got 9 new SXP orders and the way things are going he does not expect these people to get their car until late this year, possibly even next year. He even told me that other dealers are lying if they say 6-10 weeks because they really don't know any specific dates.

Hmmm. Did you at any point get confirmation that the order was accepted before you found out it was cancelled? As we have discussed before, you and I ordered the same vehicle on the same day.

In which state did you order?
Yes, the dealer did confirm that the order was accepted. I was notified of this May 31. I'm in Virginia.

What dealership in Virginia? I ordered mine from Colonial Kia.

We didn't end up making the deal and taking delivery of the Telluride for a few reasons. First, the Kia $1500 cashback is only if you finance through Kia and we planned on paying cash (our fault on this point). Second, the dealer had an $1800 "addendum" added to the Telluride that in short is extra profit even though they would not totally admit that. In that addendum they had added the HomeLink option "at no extra charge" so we were only paying around $1000 over MSRP, which they said was great because most dealers in our state are charging $3k plus over MSRP. Lastly, we are either black or white in our vehicle colors and the white in person did not give us the "have to have this" feeling. The dealer did try and back off some when they realized we were walking but by then we both had moved on to waiting until the demand on these subside and we are in control of the purchase instead of the dealer. They gave us our deposit back with no issue.

Thanks for the update. Sorry it didn't work out - your experience sounds typical. They'll wait until they have someone who only wants a certain payment then they'll maximize the interest rate and stretch the term to get that. Sadly, it will likely sell above MSRP.

I'm at 14 weeks so far, with an predicted delivery at 21 weeks. Not happy!
Hey all -- I ended up walking away from my deal last night. Long story, but it means my SXP AWD with tow (black on black) should be available. Car is set to arrive on August 10th at Medved Kia in Denver. Good luck, I hope one of you can snag it.

One other interesting thing the dealer told me. I asked how the Telluride we put a deposit on last week became so readily available when most dealers have a wait list. He said that Kia found out that a lot of dealers were entering "bogus" orders for Tellurides with fictitious names and phone numbers to get more of an allotment to their dealership. Kia supposedly found out by trying to make direct contact with the buyers. My dealer told me those dealers not only lost those fictitious orders but were penalized by moving the "good" orders back to later dates. My dealer said he received 3 Tellurides yesterday that were originally supposed to go to a dealer in the western part of our state who had entered bogus orders. So, if your dealer has come back to you with excuses on why your order has taken longer this could be the reason you're delayed. I can't confirm this but that's what the general manager told us.

Pay all of it but $1000, finance the 1K through Kia to get the $1500, then pay it off with the first payment.

Yes, we looked at that (minimum financed has to be $7500) but it was other reasons that weighed more in not making the deal. One thing I didn't mention was floor mats were not included with our EX. When I have to start paying extra for floor mats in a $40k+ vehicle then I start feeling gouged. It just all snowballed to the point of us deciding now was not the time and we can wait.

Why did you walk? Have an order in from medved.

Just wasn't willing to pay over MSRP, haven't ever paid MSRP on a vehicle. We got caught up in justifying the Telluride and what it cost with amenities compared to other SUV's and felt justified in paying what we thought would be MSRP minus $1500 Kia Bucks. I don't feel our dealer was unfair putting a $1800 "addendum" to the window sticker compared to what other dealers are doing and he was throwing the the Home Link "at no charge" -- but as we sat there for a couple of hours and went back and forth, we tired of the process and decided to walk. Still love the Telluride but will wait until the power is on our side instead of the dealer.

In everyone's experience with ordering your Telly, what's the typical timeframe from day of order, day of getting VIN and delivery? Im 3 weeks into an order and no VIN yet. thx

What trim did you order? Took 3 months for me to get a VIN for my SX prestige.

Three weeks for the order to be “accepted”, three months for VIN and four months to delivery.
4 month wait is not unusual. I pick mine up on Monday (I’m On vacation and my order is in). Orders on April 7
