I have been checking the Kia website along with CarGurus and Edmunds on dealer inventory for the past month because I didn't want to place an order. We were interested in a SX AWD in either black or white. 2 Tellurides showed up last week (Monday, the 22nd) on Edmunds for a local dealer. I expected them to both be sold but after calling dealer they said one was an SX AWD white with black leather interior and surprising to both them and me, it wasn't spoken for. Dealer said both were "in transit" and expected delivery was 9/30. I gave them a $500 credit card deposit by phone and they just sent me a text and said it was here and ready to be picked up today. If we don't like the deal they propose we get our $500 back but I think we'll make the trade. I expect it will be MSRP minus the $1500 Kia cash but we'll find out.
I will. Dealer gave me the VIN number and I was able to pull up and print out the window sticker showing all options and price. I'll let you know how it turns out.You gave them a deposit without a purchase agreement on price? Expecting MSRP minus incentives? Let us know how that turns out... if so, then please share the dealer in a "good dealer experience!" Hope you can make a deal!
Yes, the dealer did confirm that the order was accepted. I was notified of this May 31. I'm in Virginia.Hmmm. Did you at any point get confirmation that the order was accepted before you found out it was cancelled? As we have discussed before, you and I ordered the same vehicle on the same day.
In which state did you order?

HartWhat dealership in Virginia? I ordered mine from Colonial Kia.
We didn't end up making the deal and taking delivery of the Telluride for a few reasons. First, the Kia $1500 cashback is only if you finance through Kia and we planned on paying cash (our fault on this point). Second, the dealer had an $1800 "addendum" added to the Telluride that in short is extra profit even though they would not totally admit that. In that addendum they had added the HomeLink option "at no extra charge" so we were only paying around $1000 over MSRP, which they said was great because most dealers in our state are charging $3k plus over MSRP. Lastly, we are either black or white in our vehicle colors and the white in person did not give us the "have to have this" feeling. The dealer did try and back off some when they realized we were walking but by then we both had moved on to waiting until the demand on these subside and we are in control of the purchase instead of the dealer. They gave us our deposit back with no issue. You gave them a deposit without a purchase agreement on price? Expecting MSRP minus incentives? Hey all -- I ended up walking away from my deal last night. Long story, but it means my SXP AWD with tow (black on black) should be available. Car is set to arrive on August 10th at Medved Kia in Denver. Good luck, I hope one of you can snag it.I'm at 14 weeks so far, with an predicted delivery at 21 weeks. Not happy!
Pay all of it but $1000, finance the 1K through Kia to get the $1500, then pay it off with the first payment. We didn't end up making the deal and taking delivery of the Telluride for a few reasons. Three weeks for the order to be “accepted”, three months for VIN and four months to delivery.
