Oh man.I feel for you. That really really sucks.I wonder how long this madness will go on forWhat is the normal wait time for a telluride s, with tow package ordered end of July. I have waited 4 months for car already and was told I’d get it in 2-4 months. Now after 4months I’m being told it will be another 4 after my vin is created. Seems crazy long. Is this normal?
You are completely Right!I asked my dealer on Monday for the ID# and they still have not given it to me. Not looking good. Look, I’m trying to give you $45k, why the hell is this so difficult?
I would love to get my deposit back and start over with a good dealership. But if my tulluride is ordered they still have a sale, and are not out anything. The way they have treated me is so disrespectful. It was a simple order #.Did you end up pulling your deposit back?
It's almost like they don't want to sell cars. Period. So I think I’m getting the runaround: Spoke to my salesman at Karp Kia on Long Island and he said “they (Kia) are not taking pre-orders till the new year. I put it in but Kia has not ‘placed’ the order.” I asked about obtaining a request ID and he said they’re not receiving them from Kia. He said I’m looking at a March delivery date (order placed on Oct 21). I seriously despise this whole runaround. I’m ready to pull my deposit and buy something else. I’m not willing to wait 5 months for a Telluride for all the same reasons I won’t pay over MSRP; it’s just not worth it.
We are still ordering with Zero issues. Sounds like they are just waiting on stock units to arrive. KIA sends a request ID with every order and it's instantaneous once you place it. If we can help In anyway please let me know.So I think I’m getting the runaround: Spoke to my salesman at Karp Kia on Long Island and he said “they (Kia) are not taking pre-orders till the new year. #Truth! That's what we do. Push metal. It's almost like they don't want to sell cars. Period.
No they do not. Both the sameSo do the dealerships get extra monies if it’s on their lot to purchase vs a customer coming in to order it? What’s the incentive here?
One thing that really worries me is that there haven't been any reports of deliveries recently. Could it mean the production rate went down?
[/QUOTE it has not gone down
Pull your deposit and order from Kia of Muncie, you'll get it cheaper and they will keep you informed every step of the way. They will even give you a screenshot of the order with that ID# right away.So I think I’m getting the runaround: Spoke to my salesman at Karp Kia on Long Island and he said “they (Kia) are not taking pre-orders till the new year. The dealer has access to it. It's in the system we use to order vehicles. Ask him who ordered it and to pull the ID. If they can't, they probably did not order it.@Jason Fox - on the topic of the entire "request ID" I have a quick question. I placed my order Aug 2 or 3, with a dealer who'm I've had good experiences with (bought my Stinger GT there earlier this year). SXP, AWD, White/Dune, all the bells and whistles. Still no word. They insist the order has been placed and accepted. I shot him a message this morning and asked for the request ID, and he just gave me a call. Very friendly, and quick. Just said "I've emailed Kia and asked for it, I'll let you know as soon as I hear back." No asking me why I wanted it, etc, which is nice.
Seem legit?
We'll see what he comes back with. The dealer has access to it. It's in the system we use to order vehicles. Ask him who ordered it and to pull the ID. If they can't, they probably did not order it.
Sounds good. Maybe it is on order. I hope so anyways. We'll see what he comes back with.
Their language was pretty specific when I ordered. It was on a Saturday, and got a call back on Monday and was told the order was accepted by Kia and in the queue.
To add to the intrigue, when they requested a $1000 non-refundable deposit, I insisted on a guaranteed (in writing) trade value on the car I'm trading in. They agreed but put a mileage stipulation on it. I've now hit that and they will continue to honor the price as long as I do no more than 1k miles per month additional on it. I'd be surprised if they would do such a thing if they don't have an order in.
But, we'll see. I'll update you when they get back to me.
