I just want to post my experience for anyone that may think Jason and Lucas at Kia of Muncie aren't the real deal.

9/9 I ordered my wife's car (AWD SX).

9/10 Lucas sent me my Request ID.

11/11 Lucas texted that our order had been filled and we had an ETA of 12/10.

11/16 Got VIN. Lucas said we had a new ETA of 12/3

11/20 Lucas texted at 9:10 that our ETA had moved again to 11/26. Lucas texted at 4:30 this same day that our car was just loaded on a truck for delivery to Kia of Muncie.

11/21 Lucas sent a video of our car sitting on the lot in Muncie and overnighted the paperwork to us.

11/22 We returned the paperwork and are waiting for it to be delivered.

I could not ask for a better long distance car buying experience. Lucas was awesome and kept us updated as soon as he had information. There were no surprises. In this environment of people being taken advantage of and being screwed over by other dealerships, it felt like we were buying from family and were getting special treatment.

We really appreciate the kind words. We strive for the ultimate customer experience. It's very tough to do with so many moving parts but we work at it each and every day. It's no fun selling Tellurides if you guys aren't happy in the end. We will keep plugging away. Thank you!

With all the orders for Tellurides on the books at Kia of Muncie and other dealerships, it seems like a real kick in the balls watching Telluride inventory show up on dealer lots while so many wait months for delivery of their ordered Telluride.

That would make my Christmas. It's amazing though how some stores don't even care. It's like the Telluride is just another SUV and oh ya we (being they) marked it up $10k because Everyone else is. You are going to have those dealers who focus on zero marketing or don't like putting in any effort to sell a vehicle. We are in Sales, that is what we do. Customer satisfaction is a very high priority with us. You are joining #TeamMuncie when you purchase a Telluride or any vehicle we offer. Last week we shipped a Stinger to Hawaii. That does not happen sitting still. When that KIA of Muncie line starts, pick out any color combo you want. Full steam ahead!

Update on order to delivery time. Ordered sxp gravity grey with beige interior on 9/6. Took it home on 11/13. So far we love everything about it. I don’t know how we got it so quick, but I’ll certainly take it. We were told when we ordered it to expect 3-6 months.

I see a car matching myspec going to the dealer I ordered from - seems promising, but build date is a wildcard where I lack daA. VIN creation date of the match is 11-05-19.

Actually , it was not an order.....I walked into the dealership on OCT. 21 and they said they had EXACTLY what I wanted on "allocation" and it was scheduled for delivery sometime in December...I got lucky!

My own personal feeling is MotorTrend award is going to throw gas on the Those that live under a rock will be exposed as the marketing ramps up. Once again... My own personal thoughts. Ouch, I ordered one last week. I sure hope I'm not sitting here waiting 6 months and then a few weeks later the 21's are out. Not the end of the world as I'm going to lease, but I'm kinda tired of my JX35 and don't want to put any more $ into it (I'm in year 7 w/ 94k and have a 8/100k warranty but now I'm hitting things like a rotted cat which weren't covered). With over $17k in repairs in the last year (mostly warranty), no way in he*l am I going over 100k with the risk all on me.

@scarder, sorry, yes, this is the appropriate measure if you already have an order. For some reason, I read your post wrong and thought you were inquiring about unsold inventory arriving at the dealership. Yes, the production stats Google Sheet that is being maintained tracks vins - you can filter using Data -> Create a Temporary Filter View... and then find your dealership and see the VINs / trims coming in. You can then search the VIN to check window sticker. They show up on this sheet well before being delivered to the dealership - so it's a great resource. Once you see a VIN matching your order, you can inquire with the dealership to find out if it's yours.

Lol. Ya.... Something like that. I really do think it's going to get worse before it gets better. Telluride winning every award under the sun. More orders... More of a back up.
