If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Order to delivery time

It's not that dealers can't, just that they won't given the popularity of the vehicle. It eats into their bottom line further, and given that they are selling quick and for in most cases MSRP or higher... they don't have any reason to accept any less in order to move them. I don't blame the dealers really in this particular case, I blame the manufacturer for putting them in this situation.
It would have been nice doing this in 21 but not much we can do.

Yeah, at $1,095 for the Hyundai and $1,170 on the Kia... it's a pure money grab. If the Palisade wasn't so fugly, I would pick from any that I want. Literally 1 mile away at a dealer near me they have 26 on the lot as of right now. And they are selling at a pretty solid discount under MSRP since they have so many sitting there that aren't moving.

Agreed. I just can't get over the styling. I do prefer the SEL styling over the Limited though. Both are still too ugly for me (no offense to those who have one).

Oh well. Choices are to either pay more or wait a year until the frenzy dries up. 🤷‍♂️

Read your sales contract for the order which probably varies based on the dealer (my case Elgin Napleton Kia). On the back of mine, the 2nd paragraph covers them for price increases by the manufacturer. I think it's crap to do that mid-model year and after people have agreed upon pricing, but is what it is at this point. I'm fully expecting when I go to pick mine up (whenever that is 2-3 months from now), that the price will be reflective of the changes. Stinks because with the reduction in lease cash of about $500 and the increase in $680 ($600 SXP and 80 delivery) since I put down a deposit in mid-Nov, I'm losing about $1,180 that I could have spent on weather tech mats and ceramic coating, etc... Still much cheaper than any similarly equipped alternative vehicles, but frustrating nonetheless.
I got no sale contract from my order at Fort Bend Kia.
All I got (doc-wise) was a build doc with price, and a receipt for my refundable deposit

Either did I in Rockford - same situation.
But in contacting them about this they said, "Well, we already sold you the vehicle at the price in November so we will still with that price" So they might have a sale contract - but I know I never signed anything

How could they sell you something without a vin?

Exactly. No idea how they are using the word "sold". Very lose meaning and I'm hoping they mean it as "hey, we agreed to something and we will see it through" because we discussed pricing and options/payment plans at that time and the reason I ordered in the first place was this part of the conversation.

I received the same from Fort Bend Kia, They also sent me the order # when I asked for it. They seem to be an honest family owned dealership. Looks like they are receiving about 17 Tellurides per month with about 4 - 5 of the 17 being SXP. They told me there is no dealer markup, I didn't even have to ask.

Is it your understanding that we will get the price when ordered. Sorry If I missed that earlier

They haven't mentioned the price increase yet so I was planning to wait and see what happens.

Your sticker will have the new price on it at delivery, guaranteed. I'd imagine they'll tell you to pony up or move on. But maybe you'll get lucky and they'll eat the price difference (unlikely, but never know).

I ordered a gravity grey/grey EX from my dealer in Charleston SC on 11/21. At that time they were up front about it probably being months and also being hard to predict. My experience with them has been positive. After reading this forum, I decided to check in and ask how the process was working. I got a quick reply which I will post below. Not sure it tells me much other that the salesperson and dealer are doing what they can.

Hey Chuck,
Your Telluride has been allocated to us. The next update we will get is an ETA and VIN #. How the process works is Kia matches what you ordered to a vehicle they have scheduled for production, as they have production set for the next six months. You won't get an order number, but we usually get the VIN and ETA approximately 2-3 weeks before the car gets here. As soon as I get the VIN I will let you know. Thanks for your patience!!

That seemed like a pretty positive reply to me that seems in line with others' experiences. I'm curious what you think wasn't accurate/truthful/forthcoming?

Unfortunately, if they don’t have your order number, either the salesman doesn’t have a clue or they didn’t order your car. A Telluride being allocated to them doesn’t mean anything.
