Order to delivery time

I ordered a moss green SX prestige today. My dealer said they are getting 2 Tellurides a month and there are 12 ahead of me. Told me I'm looking at 6-8 months to get my car. I knew there would be a long wait, but this honestly blew me away. It's a small dealership. I'm wondering if a larger dealer in and around a big city would be able to get one faster? My guy said he would not blame me at all if I could find one faster and to go with it...
We have a pre-owned SX-P moss with dune with 7,000 miles if your interested.

Hi Foks,

I am new to the forum and last week ordered an SXP Moss with Dune Brown Interior and tow package. I am getting information on the ordering process and understand there are two systems:
1) the older system of weekly ordering based on allocation and mfg runs
2) the newer system called KFOF (forward ordering) system which is more direct ordering (my guess)

Do any of you or dealers have information on the KFOF system Vs the older system? My understanding is the all dealers get allocations each month based on sales volume and that determines the number of cars they get allocated for ordering each month in the KFOF system.
We have a pre owned certified with 7,000 if your interested. Weiland0313@gmail.com

Have experienced madness like this for any other Kia cars? Or any other cars if you worked somewhere else?
Heard of this before but never been a part of it... they will tell grand stories of these days 100 years from now.. my great great grandchildren with see my picture next to Tellurides.. I will say that I not only lived in those day but I conquered 😎

I am getting the white SX with Prestige package and was told 6-9 months to wait.

It was crazy like this when I sold cars for Chrysler. The PT Cruiser people were paying over MSRP on orders without the car even being out yet.

Yup that’s the closest I heard stories of.. that and the Prius when it first came out...

Thank you!

Stephen, you the man! ! I would have loved to have the SX-P in bench seats -- at this stage in my life with a toddler and another baby on the way, they need their mommy next to them in the 2nd row.

I placed my Kia Telluride SX Prestige order with a dealership in Tulsa, OK on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. They said it could take up to 16 weeks for it to arrive.

On Wednesday, December 4, 2019 the dealership provided me with an expected arrival date of February 4, 2020. They said it could arrive early or up to one week later.

I received my VIN on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 and was told the car would be arriving on Tuesday, January 29, 2020.

I’ll be picking it up Saturday, February 1, 2020.

And that's how it should work... is this at Midtown Kia? If so, that is a fairly fast turning dealership with an average of about 12-15 Tellurides per month and multiple prestige per month (2 so far in January, 5 in December, 7 each in Oct & Nov). They have had a total of 154 allocations since March 2019 and 50(!) of which were Prestige (nearly 1/3 of total). That's a great ratio - they are number 5 in total Prestige allocations. Wonder what their queue is now for Prestige? Looks like a good dealership to order from.

Ah got it. I guess I shouldn't assume! A good dealership too though - total of 132 allocations since March through 1/13, 18 total Prestige. Been getting multiple (2-4) Prestige per month and around 12-15 vehicles also - had 22 allocated in October and 15 in December. 8 so far through middle of January and 2 Prestige. So good turning dealership! They are second to Midtown in Oklahoma in terms of total allocations... y'all have strong dealerships in Oklahoma!

Muncie is only getting 1-2 SXPs per month... so find out how many are in front of you. They are getting about 10 total Tellurides per month...
Yeah, I know. Last I checked I had 5 people ahead of me at the beginning of January. So looks like I've got a few more months still potentially.

Looks like they pushed back my delivery date. Ugh this is so exhausting. ETA was 2/20. Now 2/27. Ordered 8/22

Have faith! At least you have an ETA. Montrose Kia is a very small dealership - they've only had 6 Prestige allocated to them since March - less than 1 per month. So, you'll be the lucky one when it arrives! 1 month will go quickly... hopefully it'll show up on January's VINs - but if not - then hopefully by Mid Feb.

I kind of figured they were a small dealership. I got to keep telling myself it's almost over. I would have mind if I good working vehicle. Been using my mom spare F 150 until it arrives.

I will be ordering mine from Bill Barth Kia in Mandan ND, and they are a small dealership. That’s where I got the 6-9 month wait time from. I’m guessing by the posts here that it could be even longer. Really hoping my Equinox makes it until the Telly arrives!

The Equinox is a good vehicle.
