Hate to tell you this, but I almost guarantee your car came in and they sold it for more $ to someone else.

The sticker JW_TX posted is basically what you are stating you ordered. It was Moss / Dune with tow and floor mats.

Be curious as to what the dealer says or what excuse they come up with.

I ordered a gravity gray SXP with towing from Liberty Lake George Gee location on 12/8/19. I sure hope I'm not going to have to wait until May for this rig... It'll be worth the wait, I'm sure, but seems like other locations aren't waiting this long, so maybe this location has a larger than usual backlog.

Fingers crossed! I'd be an anxious wreck if not for the fabulous VIN lookup site.

That "order number" may be internal but it doesn't line up with the traditional format. Nevertheless, I wouldn't put much faith in your dealership to get that vehicle to you in any amount of time in the near future. You need to ask when they will have a KFOS allocation for an SX and can order your vehicle - if they can't do it during the Feb order period (mid Feb) then it's not going to come anytime soon.

First of all, if you want some help to locate a Telluride matching your order specifications, then please post
(1) Your Order ID that you got from your dealer
(2) The desired trim / options
(3) The dealership you ordered from

A true July order should have been delivered by now. Either your dealer didn't actually order it in July, or something else is going on with that dealership. But, we can't speculate until we know a bit more. And, we can help you with the questions to ask your dealer.

Am I crazy to be this patient?? My family thinks I've lost my mind to be waiting for a car this long. My Toyota Sienna is paid for, so I just keep telling myself "good things come to those who wait" but it seems like I might be waiting forever from what you told Mhdecoys.

I know they are a smaller dealership, but I don't know how to go about getting one from another dealer. Should I order again from a bigger dealership (like listed in that spreadsheet) or stay the course. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Recap of my order: placed order 10/22/19. Received order number 1/9/20 with a “guesstimate” of 6 more months. Bugged him yesterday and he said it’s scheduled for March 19 delivery. I don’t believe anything they tell me but it is promising. Still looking at Explorer ST’s waiting for a crazy deal as a backup plan (or diversion, perhaps). If I was waiting since July of ‘19....well I wouldn’t have. That’s next-level patience.

Got the call yesterday. My Telly has arrived! Dark Moss EX FWD ordered on 11/30, ETA was for 2/22, then revised to 2/15 then 2/9 and arrived at the dealership on 2/6. VIN generated on 1/29. Kia must have really upped the production in the new year for it to arrive so soon. Also, I saw no EX non-premium produced in the first half of Jan, but they produced a bunch of them (based on the VIN lookup tool) in the last week of Jan and first week of Feb, so looks like they make them in batches.

Hope the wait ends for you guys soon as well! Picking up my Telly today.

We ordered an EX V6 AWD Moss green with black interior on 1/30/2020 from Fairfax KIA in VA which is in the middle of the Top 20 highest volume dealerships list for VA. I have an Order # VA055200130J001. We put down a non refundable $500 deposit and were told 1-3 months which we are ok with...I guess
I understand it is too soon to search the VIN Lookup tool (but I did it anyway!) but I am more so concerned about patiently waiting for several months and then it being sold to someone else, etc.. We chose this dealership because it is close, and they aren't charging above MSRP currently.
If anyone has any tips how to stay on this...ie. call the dealership regularly, keep checking inventory of other dealerships, etc.. I would appreciate it.

It sounds like you are on the right track. The only other information you could potentially get from the dealer at this point is the typical number of EX AWD allocations per month, and the number of EX AWD orders in front of you. That would tell you about when your order will be transferred from the KDealer system to the KFOS system, which is when things really start moving.

When I did this, my original dealership told me they didn't know when they could put my order in because they don't actually get a lot of SX FWD allocations.

Yes I forgot to mention that it is AWD and the MSRP is $43,230. ETA got moved up to 4/7. Will have floor mats, Cargo cover, cargo tray and tow hitch.
