Congratulations!! Mine was to start building tomorrow but with the shut down it is delayed. Enjoy!
It’s worth the wait. I’m number 9 now with Muncie being one if there oldest orders from Nov. They were just allocated 6 SXP. and are moving a little bit faster. Corporate is aware of the back log and is working with Muncie. Thanks!! That does make me feel betteri officially completed the order Sep 30. It’s been a long wait!

Wait there’s a remote start to the key fob now?Well - interesting twist on my order status. This past month my dealership received 9 allocations for SXP models. I was number 8. Oddly myself and the individual on #9 on the list didn't receive an ETA like everyone else. Then today my dealership calls to tell me my order was dropped.
Now for the good news...order books for 2020's have been closed. So next month when KFOS opens back up - I will be first in line at my dealership for a 2021. That means my original theory was correct - 2021's were going to come before next fall. Now we wait to see when the pricing, options and content changes for the 2021's come out. I predict that we will have information on 2021's. Here is my wish list:
- Add remote start to the key fob
- Give us the full digital dash from the Palisade
- Put on the new KIA logo
The wait continues.
Really WOW!! Didn’t know that. I wonder how much of a price increase hmm..You will be getting a 2021...the 2020 order books are now closed.
Wait there’s a remote start to the key fob now?
Sweet, I’ll be getting the latest version.. Nice!! Thanks for the info.It is on my wish list. The new Sorento has it. Nothing about the 2021's have been confirmed. The only thing that we know is that the order books are closed for 2020.
You have to admit the Kia Corporation is showing some real tenacity here. If they are actually able to reopen the plant in two days I will be impressed.FYI - West Point, GA plant shut down. Local news last PM stated KIA plant will shut down for two days, Friday and Saturday due to supply chain issues. They will use that time to disinfect and thoroughly clean the plant, etc. Doesn't sound like too much of a hit at this point. Hopefully production will continue smoothly after that. But uncertain times as you hear that other auto manufacturers are shutting down production for certain periods. Keep the KIA faith.
Called dealer today. Supposedly they removed all orders from their system and they were recently put back on. I've been given a FA finally and an ETA for May 12th (order date 3rd week in December). So happy to at least have a light at the end of this tunnel. I finally got them to send over confirmation of this (see attached). I'm the second one on the list. Now I'll just pray that this May date holds up and that they ordered the correct car.
Do we have a cheat accessory code list and model identifiers (e.g., J4482)? I was not able to locate using the search feature of the forum.
Status is the same.@StephenCantrelle is this what happened at your dealership? Did my status change?
Agreed. I think Kia corporate realizes they are having a serious 'moment' right now for the brand and, more than most car makers, are loathe to lose momentum right now. Telluride changed public perception of their brand seemingly overnight in a lot of ways, and they need to keep capitalizing. Or, at least that's my $0.02 wearing my marketing hat (what I do for a living). You have to admit the Kia Corporation is showing some real tenacity here. Hunkerd down in the bunker.
At this point, you need to change your market hat to a mask.Agreed. Selfishly though, I have an ETA of 4/20 and want them to hold on at least until then! haha.
Hey, 04/20 is our ETA, too! Was hoping it might arrive a little sooner but am now just hoping it isn't delayed.Agreed. Haha. No chance... the wait has been brutal as is.At this point, you need to change your market hat to a mask.. Sorry for my Covid-19 humor, medicine is what I do for a living.
Congrats on your upcoming delivery. If you were really a good human being, you would give it to me.![]()
Talked to my dealer today. Sales GM. Gerald Naperville. Indicated that all their buidl orders for SXP have been "accepted" by Kia. Have my KDealer number since order placed Jan 4. SXP/T White w Black. Refundable deposit.
Estimate currently is May1.
My order has not gone to KFOS yet and no VIN yet which aligns with stats lookup tool. This dealer is getting 6-7 SXP per month.
No word or communication from Kia about switch over to 2021 at the moment for build orders.
With the Kia plant closure a few days, I assume things will change. And depends on plant going back to operations. Interestingly the dealer is staying open even this coming week supposedly even though our Illinois Governor declared all non essential Business to close and shelter in place guidelines until April7.
We shall see how this all continues.
