I ordered mine at beginning of Jan Dark Moss SX with FWD , black leather and tow hitch... Told I would not get it.. order was cancelled by Kia . and I have to wait for 2021 ??Wondering if people can start posting when they ordered and when they received their Kia (or at least the vin).
I ordered an sx prestige with tow on March 13. Nothing yet.
Many of the threads here have gotten hare to follow woth with the side conversations, it would be helpful to just keep this to dates for people’s reference.
Mine was built either 5/14 or 5/15 and I got it on 5/23. It certainly helped that I’m only a couple of hours from the plant & my dealer is just off I-75. I think I read that the VIN lookup site was changed to show build date so my experience is that it’s possible to get it just a week after.
If by saying “screwed” means that you will have to wait longer...yes you will.I ordered mine at beginning of Jan Dark Moss SX with FWD , black leather and tow hitch... Told I would not get it.. order was cancelled by Kia . and I have to wait for 2021 ??
Did I get screwed..
Interesting because none of the Telluride’s parts are supposed to come from Mexico.Just searched facebook for public KMMG posts, here's the memo that went out to employees this morning through their scheduling app.

They must get parts for the other vehicles from Mexico. Maybe it's not worth running the plant to only build Tellurides.Interesting because none of the Telluride’s parts are supposed to come from Mexico.
This is what I was wondering, but you think it would be worth running the plant since the Telluride seems to be their number one seller. Of course, it is also possible that the explanation provided isn’t the entire story. They must get parts for the other vehicles from Mexico. I'm sure there are a lot of factors involved. If they're building everything on the same line, maybe it's easier to just shut it down rather than making the changes necessary to drop production of a model. Labor agreements and the amount of work available could also factor in.This is what I was wondering, but you think it would be worth running the plant since the Telluride seems to be their number one seller. The tiny thread of hope that I'm holding onto, but am highly doubtful of, is that when Kia gave people these new ETA's last week, they had this shutdown this week built into the new ETA. I'm doubting it, but I'm hopeful!Hold on here! A lot of us waiting were contacted last week on new ETA for 2020/2021 and all of sudden this week they closed the plant due to supply issues?
I would think they have buyers/purchasing folks that know well in advance if there is a supply issue with their vendors for their production schedule. What was the point of issuing new ETA last week when they knew of inventory issues. So now KIA will have to reissue new ETA next week? This does not make good business sense. KIA needs to do a better job on communication with their dealers and customers! Yes KIA you have customers too!
Have you seen other manufacturers announce 2021 models in the last 2 months or so? I am sure KIA is not the only one with supply chain issues. It was a problem before the first shutdown at KMMG. Hang in there! So I know that in the grand scheme of things, getting a new car is small potatoes right now, but damn...the hits keep on freaking coming. I am willing to bet this shutdown will last longer than a week. This freaking sucks not only for customers, but for all the employees effected by all of this. Damn.
I know communication isn’t Kia’s strength overall, but I am starting to see why they’ve been incredibly hush hush on announcing anything official about the 2021 models now.
Exactly the point I was making...Have you seen other manufacturers announce 2021 models in the last 2 months or so? I am sure KIA is not the only one with supply chain issues. It was a problem before the first shutdown at KMMG. Hang in there!
Well, if anyone here has an SX ordered with Muncie, you all just jumped up one peg because I just cancelled mine. So at least maybe some people got some good news today lol
Due to Covid-19, our finances were affected. Wife's pay cut (needlessly) by 20% and my business (biotech sales) came to a grinding halt thanks to all the labs I sell into being shuttered. We've had to tighten our belts and rethink how we move forward. Just can't justify spending 44k on a new vehicle anymore, and not really interested in lower trims than the SX. Can't say enough good things about the Muncie team though! It was a seamless experience from start to finish. Highly recommendWhy did you cancel?
