Order to delivery time

And is underwhelming, like Toyota always is.
And it looks disgusting.

It's funny, they make some cool looking stuff like the TRD Off Road 4runner and Tacoma but I think they make some of the ugliest cars on the road as well.

A bunch of their stuff has that weird bulgy body line that runs into the rear quarters. It's a big bubbly disaster if you ask me.

I personally think the next gen Pilot and Highlanders are going to shock us all.

Mostly due to the push Kia made with the Telly.

I don't know. I suspect the Honda will be limited in how much it can shock us because Honda has to leave room for the MDX to be the reasonably priced competition to the GV80 and Cadillac XT6. That will limit how much flash they can put in that vehicle. Based on the update to the Odyssey - Honda isn't taking any chances with design or materials in a segment they own. I personally think they made a mistake with the updated Sienna, Pacifica and now new Sedona. They Odyssey may lose sales year over year for the first time in a long time. As for the Highlander...KIA is on a shorter refresh cycle than either Honda or Toyota - so I suspect there will be an all new Telluride before there is an all new Highlander. But time will tell.

Yep - agreed. You really see the weird styling on the Sienna. The lack of a V6 and horrible styling of the Toyota combined with the lackluster refresh of the Odyssey really leave the door open for KIA to make some serious in-roads in the minivan segment. If the quality of the Sedona is as good as the Telluride - I think Honda and Toyota have to be concerned. KIA is killing it lately...and the Sedona is no exception. As long as KIA stays the course on styling and keeps improving quality and content...They will continue to grow.

Now if they could just figure out their manufacturing issues...

Of course looks matter but we would be foolish to think the Telluride won't make competitors step up their game in this class of vehicles...

@StephenCantrelle thanks again for looking up VIN # 5XYP24HC1MG107184... I didn't know you could also check the customer's name assigned.. would you mind confirming if in this particular case the first name is something like "Ca____" ?, I'd really appreciate it!
No name attached at this moment.. could be assigned internally though.. not a order unit though

Thanks again!.. yeah, I believe it was assigned dealer inventory which happened to match what I was looking for at the time... the model, price, and characteristics match with this VIN in failcat... but I have not been able to get a straight answer from the dealer unfortunately; hopefully this is the one assigned to me

I'm happy for you, however this is what frustrates me about this process. I ordered a SXP w/tow back in January and my latest ETA is 10/27. How is it that someone that ordered 6.5 months after of me has an ETA 17 days sooner than me. There is something seriously wrong with the process. And my order was accepted into KFOS before you even submitted yours! @StephenCantrelle do you know if they are prioritizing Nightfall Prestige builds ahead of regular SX Prestige builds?

For comparison...here are his order ETA dates with his trim - compared to mine in my signature:
2021 SX AWD N/T/P - Gravity Gray/Gray Nappa
Ordered 7-30
Entered into KFOS - 8-25
ETA 10-10

This just doesn't make any sense.
With Nightfalls being new option they got pushed by plant quicker... for that initial surge.. After that initial surge they are falling back in line like normal with Prestige orders.

I have a Nightfall that got entered this month SXP and its ETA is past your ETA.

**I have seen last month a Telluride(EX Nightfall) get put into KFOS and was built the next day. Almost as if it was a fresh unit that factory was building anyways and matched perfectly with color combo so Kia just assigned it to dealer.

I suspect this is same situation(like hitting lotto)

Here are the numbers for SX and Prestige AWD models compared to NFE SX AWD and Prestige for July and August:

SX AWD - 774
SX Prestige - 1,936
SX AWD NF - 1,468
SX Prestige NF - 573

So yeah...Nightfall buyers are jumping in front of the line for buyers that have been waiting for going on a year.
In both examples, you and @joelpend are both saying 43% or less of production is Nightfall. It’s a significant chunk, but still not the majority. I don’t think it helps buyers get into KFOS sooner, at least that’s not yet my experience, and the only way to get one quickly is by getting an unclaimed Nightfall on its way to the dealer.

I also hear what you’re both saying in that the 43% Nightfall production is eating into the production for outstanding orders. This is also true. In these scenarios, I think we’re both correct

Thanks @StephenCantrelle - As responsive as always. I wonder what it is about my order that has me being pushed out continually. Got to be more than transit. Oh well...I continue to wait.

ummmm okay scratch what I said in previous comment.. The Nightfall SXP order that I referred to.. ETA just jumped up like crazy.. so maybe still pushing Nightfalls with available parts being on hand is all I can think of.

Yeah - seems to be what we are seeing randomly across the forum members. SX Prestige trim production volume continues to increase - yet orders keep slipping. My suspicion is that because the Nightfall trim is what is currently featured in the Telluride's marketing campaign - they are getting priority. But I doubt we will ever know for sure. And if KIA has the choice of building two prestige trims - they make more money off the Nightfall.

Dealers still have potentially months of non Nightfall orders sitting in Kdealer waiting for entry into KFOS as the Dealer receives allocations. This is not the case with Nightfall since it has only been orderable for a couple months. I am assuming Nightfall is a criteria used in the Dealer allocations, maybe one of our Dealers will confirm.

My understanding is allocations are distributed by Trim + AWD/FWD. Nightfall would just be an added set of options that don’t effect the allocations.

Maybe @StephenCantrelle can confirm. I do know that Prestige has its own allocation beyond SX. I would assume Nightfall would be the same way.

yes allocation are based on FWD and AWD.. not Prestige or non Prestige..
Nightfalls are a bit tricky atm as they are being pushed quicker from update in ETA's I have seen today.. so almost like its a different platform all together.

They count as our SX AWD allocation number but are coming quicker than non Nightfall SX AWD... (Don't know if this is permanent or just due to it being new and maybe abundance of parts ready to go)

Looks like I posted the order time question in the wrong thread, so here I go again...

After order is entered into KFOS, you should get an ETA in after a week (10 days for me). Over time, ETA can vary (sometimes a lot). Still haven't figured out how long until a VIN (anyone know?). After VIN, 6-8 weeks until it arrives at the dealer. That right?

My story? Ordered 3/11. Entered into KFOS 8/15. Got a call today, ETA 11/14. That make sense?

Friend's story? Ordered 3/4. Entered into KFOS 7/15. Got a call 8/3, Arriving @ dealer 8/31. WTH?

Our order? SXPT Silver. Their order? Ebony black SXP Nightfall.

KIA, I am disappoint.

Your friend switched to Nightfall, that’s why he is getting it faster. More money wins again.
Also, I think it’s normally 30 days or less from VIN to delivery.
