yes allocation are based on FWD and AWD.. not Prestige or non Prestige..
Nightfalls are a bit tricky atm as they are being pushed quicker from update in ETA's I have seen today.. so almost like its a different platform all together.

They count as our SX AWD allocation number but are coming quicker than non Nightfall SX AWD... (Don't know if this is permanent or just due to it being new and maybe abundance of parts ready to go)

So it sounds like Nightfalls don’t get you into KFOS any faster, but there is potential to receive delivery sooner once you are in. Does that sound about right?

Correct as of today that seems the case..

When did your order/get accepted in KFOS/What is your ETA. Many of us have this in our signature to help with tracking.

I don't know if this is evidence or not but my Nightfall order ETA moved back up a bit after dropping back over a month. I will be excited once Glacial Whites start hitting failcat.

Looks like I posted the order time question in the wrong thread, so here I go again...

After order is entered into KFOS, you should get an ETA in after a week (10 days for me). Over time, ETA can vary (sometimes a lot). Still haven't figured out how long until a VIN (anyone know?). After VIN, 6-8 weeks until it arrives at the dealer. That right?

My story? Ordered 3/11. Entered into KFOS 8/15. Got a call today, ETA 11/14. That make sense?

Friend's story? Ordered 3/4. Entered into KFOS 7/15. Got a call 8/3, Arriving @ dealer 8/31. WTH?

Our order? SXPT Silver. Their order? Ebony black SXP Nightfall.

Varies... no real answer when ETA are swinging 4 weeks in either direction

Normally you would get a VIN around 30 days before your ETA...if that helps.

I’m not part of that club, yet. Still playing the toughest part of the game which is to graduate from Kdealer to KFOS. Will share a positive update when I have one, hopefully next month

Key emphasis on "normally". COVID and then Nightfall - have disrupted everything we knew or could expect going forward.

Your friend switched to Nightfall, that’s why he is getting it faster. More money wins again.
Also, I think it’s normally 30 days or less from VIN to delivery.

I'd say its less about money and more about the "new thing", which is being nightfall.

Look at it this way, if you had no way to compare ETAs with anyone else, you'd be a happy camper what is it that they say? "comparison is the killer of happiness" i think it is

OK, From what Stephen has said, none of the many Nightfalls built and delivered were ordered. How could they have been if the Dealers were entering SX vehicles into KFOS from KDealer which we know is several months backlogged. Kia just built all these Nightfalls and allocated them to Dealers. So just to use Classic Kia as an example, in the past couple months approx 20 SX AWD were built for Classic, approx 10 of those were Nightfall. The Dealership I am waiting on received 14 Nightfall and I wait and I wait and I wait. Kia can get away with this because they have a winning vehicle. If there were something comparable for $50K I would not be in the Kia camp waiting.

Kia is building what they can based on parts. The decision on what parts to buy was made months ago. I have never been in Auto manufacturing so I guess I am not qualified to pass judgement on how they handled the SX Nightfall issue. It is easy after the fact

You have been overly patient. I ordered 3 months after you and recently I have been looking at anything and everything out there trying to find a comparable vehicle for like $.

Im somewhat disappointed that my dealer has not been forthcoming with information. All I have a been told is that my order has been “picked up by KIA” but I have no VIN and only a verbal ETA about delivery end of October.
