THE EAGLE HAS LANDED !!! Here's my story....

May 14th - Placed order at my local dealer @ msrp
May 15th - They called me back and informed me no orders are being taken as a result of the Covid shut down and the model yr change
Weekly - I persistently called to see if orders opened up yet. (many calls unanswered and no response)
July 13th - Found out through this forum that orders for what i was wanting opened up. Called my local dealer and said place my order. He said let me check on that to confirm. He called me back and said I am correct so he took my deposit and my order. (which btw changed from our first choice after we saw the SWP NE on this forum) I assumed my order went in because in May he said he will not take a deposit until it can be ordered. When asking numerous times for proof of my order, I received no proof of anything.
Aug 13th - I tried to get an answer again and said I want to know when my order will go in KFOS and how many are in front of me waiting to be placed. Will it be Aug, Sept or later. Got a blow off message from the manager with BS which really pissed me off, basically telling me they will contact me when the order goes in with no time frame at all. I was done with them at that point !
Aug 14th - I found a sticker on Failcat of what we were looking for going to a dealer 5 hrs away from us. I called them Sat 8/15 and spoke to the Sales Manager and she said actually there is no name on this one as of yet. I told her I want it, Gave a deposit and she said it will be there in 10 days and I will have 24hrs to pick it up once it arrives, I said SOLD, call me when it comes in. It came in Late Tuesday evening, they prepped it yesterday and I flew down this morning and drove it home TODAY !!!
Is that a record ? 12 days from find to possession ! SX AWD T NE SWP Espresso Brown. And ONLY 500.00 over msrp !

The increase on the S Trim production is unbelievable. It's dropping off in August, so wonder if we'll see that trend continue allowing an increase in Production of other Trims.

The month isn't over...they have a few days left to ramp up S production for August.

Everything is all about Nightfall. I understand their marketing strategy but the production should not take priority over orders that were submitted long ago. That's just horrible management.

Exactly. It borders on unethical management practices. It is like "screw the old orders. We have so many people waiting in line for a new Telluride - if the customer walks - we will just let one of our greedy dealerships sell it for a hefty markup and never miss a beat."

KIA has the potential to take on Honda as the new trendy value priced quality option. But they risk pissing off this new wave of customers that are not accustomed to being treated this badly by any retail establishment. I honestly feel badly for the good salesmen like mine @StephenCantrelle that have to keep making excuses for this behavior and deal with frustrated and tired customers like me.

Seriously - I wouldn't trust anything less than a 6 month rough ETA.

I think by nature MANY of those folks are saying screw it - Nightfall it is...I almost did when I saw the video of it in Everlasting Silver, but I'm glad I pumped the brakes on it.

Nightfall should be the Unicorn - special edition out there, but in all honesty it will end up being the SXP that ends up being the rare edition moving forward!

I hope mine gets pushed in the right direction as well! It doesn’t make sense getting pushed back 12 days although a vin has been created!
