Order to delivery time

Wondering if people can start posting when they ordered and when they received their Kia (or at least the vin).

I ordered an sx prestige with tow on March 13. Nothing yet.

Many of the threads here have gotten hare to follow woth with the side conversations, it would be helpful to just keep this to dates for people’s reference.

I ordered on February 22 and took delivery on September 3.

It’s just f&$%ing annoying seeing everyone else getting their cars without orders or in a short period of time while im still waiting from 2019. I think the only other person from 2019 was @akdoh and he got his car last week.

Question!! If your vin shows up on Failcat does that mean it is built? If not what is the usual timeframe till it is built?

I am yet another 2019 waiter. I ordered a Gravity Gray/Black SX-P w/ Tow Option on 11/11/19. Last ETA was 10/18. No VIN yet. KIA's treatment of long-time waiters like me is certainly not a mark in their favor when considering future car purchases. Luckily, especially with covid, I have not needed the car. Also luckily, I am very good at deferred gratification!

Shit! A case worse than mine! That sounds like something is going on with your dealer. My order was placed first when they opened kfos after covid 19. Got a VIN last month and eta is this month. My only issue is that it’s taking too long to arrive to dealer. Where did you order from and which state?

What I know and almost sure about is that creating a VIN is the first step of making a car. Production should start right after. Around a month to get to dealer.

I spoke up the 2019 people. As long as you’re fine with waiting! My order was supposed to be a gift for my wife on her birthday. Then on our anniversary! Now thinking of an early Christmas gift

Yes, I am working with a small dealership that only gets about 5 allocations a month, so that is part of the problem. My problem with the KIA mothership is all the Nightfall Tellys they are building while the 2019/early 2020 waiters twist in the wind.

A question for people who ordered 2020's way back when but are getting 2021s: Are dealerships honoring the 2020 MSRP they quoted when you placed your deposit?

Looks like the other member's order is a Nightfall and the forum has already identified NE as being produced and delivered faster than non-NE, especially when it comes to Prestige. Your order is already in transit and due for delivery in 10 days - sitting back and relaxing might be advisable since the hardest part is over and long gone

@StephenCantrelle Would you mind checking my VIN? Dealer provided it on Thursday w/an ETA of 10/9 and it just popped up in Failcat today. I'm not entirely convinced it's the one I ordered since it has the floor mats (didn't want) and is missing the Illuminated Scuff Plates I ordered, but the dealer insists it's mine and frankly, I'm not gonna argue.
