Hello! My Wife and I took ownership of a 2021 Telluride S. No extra options other than floor mats.
We DID order the Smart Liftgate and are EXTREMELY unhappy that it isn’t available yet.
It shipped rather quickly, from order to pickup in about 5 weeks. We were expecting 3 months. Perhaps should have waited. Other than that, the car is really really nice!

Oh! We got the AWD.

Did Fred Anderson give you an order sheet with a part number when you signed? If you have a part number that might determine what they promised you.

Some sort of order sheet, but not as specific as any part numbers. Model (trim) color, AWD, Power ‘gate and we actually wanted a trailer hitch as well. There really weren’t any promises other than the $500 check kept our place in the queue. We were told we couldn’t order the fancier trim models, but weren’t interested in them anyway. When it showed up and if we didn’t wan’t it. No big deal. We all know these things fly off the lot. The only car we were able to test drive was our own!!

They were very pleasant to deal with, I’d recommend our sales professional Wendell Majette. Compared to all I’ve read about hidden costs, markups, da da da ... I’d say we did REALLY well. The only other (really minor) thing was they added floor mats. But those were on the factory sticker.
A recommended dealership I guess. Caveat Emptor: their service department does not get good reviews, which we mentioned. “We’re working on that.”

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Telluride! What did the Telluride replace for you? I'm glad you found us.

It replaced my Wife’s 2016 Chevy Traverse LT.

I drive a “go-kart” aka Ford Focus ST.
My previous car was a 1985 Ferrari 308 that I had for over 20 years and which I personally maintained. I have a two post asymmetric lift in the garage. I also race: 24 Hours of LeMons with a bunch of “kids.”
As you might be guessing, we’re neither “spring chickens.” Actually retired but still nuts about cars. The FoST is tweaked up to about 300hp and more goodies for it in the garage. I hang out on that Forum as well.

The Traverse is a PoS. What’s sad is that the new ones aren’t any better. Like nothing in terms of safety features, handling, etc. My Wife really likes to “buy American” if possible, but the domestic car companies are years behind the curve in this market. Like I said, pretty sad.

Glad to be on the forum. Thanks for all the welcome.

I drive the Telluride in Sport Mode so far, my Wife in comfort. I haven’t quite gotten used to the car “fussing at me” when I apex turns and go over the lines.

Sadly, buying American often means buying North American. At least assembly wise.

Anything is possible. Too coincidental that S, color, and AWD - with no other added options, would have been allocated rather than what we ordered. Every other one I’ve seen advertised was optioned to the max. We shall see. I’ll try and make a stink about it even though it seems a lost cause. In the meantime there is a Voxx vendor in Durham NC which isn’t very far.

FA have changed their mind and are charging more? They claimed to only charge MSRP. When you factor in the loan incentive, we got a $500 discount.
Hendrick had some 2020 leftovers with maxed out trim and were giving a $1000 finance credit. They didn’t seem willing to order us a 2021 which was why we went to FA.
