• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Parking sensor error or blockage

I wouldnt mention anything about a car wash to the dealer. Some car wash are really rough with your car. If they hit the sensors in the right place might be causing the issues as well as water getting into it some how. If you say it's the car wash then you could be liable for taking your car through there. Just saying.

Mine went out for the second time. Took it back to dealer and they said the connectors were corroded and there was water in the wire harness. I was told three harnesses had to be replaced due to corrosion at the connectors and it was not covered by warranty because it was caused by an “outside intervention”. Was also told that KIA regional denied the warranty because of the outside intervention (Can’t explain to me that is) I have filed a complaint with KIA national and waiting on their response. To me is a bad seal at the connectors but so far they are no help. Also looks like more folks are having this issue.
I think its time to pull out the black electrical tape.

Dealship here in Ohio said they were corroded and that they haven’t heard of if before. Apparently it is becoming an issue and they also told me it wasn’t covered and was $270ish to fix. Pretty poor seals. This shouldn’t be happening but guess like some of you others I’ll file a complaint with Kia directly.

Do you have a new Telluride? Just wondering. I have a 2020 and this just started happening. I do go through the car wash regularly. I’m getting a new one as soon as it arrives and hoping this isn’t happening with the newer Tellurides. Guess I’ll have to have it serviced.

I also have a 2020 and this started to happen to me this past weekend. I was in the desert and not going through a car wash, so I wonder what it is.

No parking sensor "errors" here.... and no beeps either!
2021 LX The rear sensor proximity beeps stopped beeping about a month after I took delivery.
When I shift to reverse, it'll beep once....and that's it.
Brought back to dealer service. The diagnosis....
"No codes in system showing. No system faults. Tech tested backup sensors. Working as designed."
This even after I demonstrated that it doesn't beep....as I was 6" away from backing into one of their new Stinger's:rolleyes:

I’m sure they’ll say it was user error instead of the sensor error.

Mine just went out today too after a car wash. Wtf. And your dealer is saying they won’t cover it? I am waiting for my dealer to call me back.

Yeah, mine wasn’t car wash related. But even if it was that’s ridiculous

I only do hand car washes but the car hasn't been washed for going on 3 weeks now but I just started getting this error randomly. I'll be putting on a service call but does anyone know where the module is that some are saying gets corroded? I'd like to take a peek myself.

I agree, I’d like to know where this is too. I’m not going to mess with it, but would be curious how it isn’t covered or something. Also weird how the reverse sensors still work.

This just happened to me for a second time. The first was about a year ago. Exact same issue with the corroded harness and water getting through. They fixed it for free so I am curious to see what they say when I bring it in.

Having this issue on my 22 SX. My front sensors stopped working 2 days after I bought it brand new. Dealer says bad sensor, and hopefully it doesn’t take a long time to fix. I’ve only had my truck for week.

Brand new 2022 Telluride, sensor issue started right away. Cruise control gets turned off with a warning that radar is blocked. Left car with Kia to fix. Waiting.....

I’m having the same issue. Has anyone tried a battery reset?

The Telluride and others who have the fantastic electronic capabilities are, unfortunately, not 100% protected from water intrusion ( particularly from high pressure automatic car washes ) and the result is what we are seeing here on this thread. I also had the "sensor fail" and it was due to the harness.....my dealer, who I have a very good relationship with, was able to get it replaced under warranty but privately told me that the issue may very well "reappear" depending upon how I wash the car. KIA and the others should be manufacturing these high tech vehicles to meet the weather standards AND the fantastic, high quality car wash facilities that some of use. JMO
