If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I'll be picking up my new 2021 TELLURIDE S V6 AWD at a dealership in Kansas City later this afternoon, June 18, 2021. It's been on order since late April. I'm happy it only took 6 weeks. (Only $2,000 over MSRP) Any advice on this process? I know they will try to sell me a warranty, but I'm thinking I won't. I was offered by the dealership a very good trade-in value on my 2019 Honda Insight EX. What other things should I be aware of when I am there to pick it up and complete the paperwork? I'll be financing the balance (about $23,500) via the Kia financing option. Your suggestions are welcome

Suggest you go to carvana.com and look at what they will pay for your car. I have a good friend deep in the dealership world who tells me that having Carvana offer 1200 more than KBB is not unusual. They are buying market share, and there's no reason not to take advantage of that.

Yes check online value at Carvana, Vroom, and CarMax. Then bring the best number with you to the dealership. The dealer is probably offering good trade in value. But those companies are offering incredible value relative to normal times.

Make sure to ask for the 66 month financing if you prefer it to 60 months

If the extended warranty they sell you is above 1.5K, dont do it, we had a mistake it taking taking an extra 4K for both prepaid maintenance and ext warranty which will account to your loan... Though we already cancelled it but it affected our overall financing.. Someone mentioned some dealers offer a much lower cost of the SAME warranty. Some dealers double the price for these services to offset the "markup value" they just lowered.

Thanks for the advice. Carvana offered me only slightly more than the dealer for my 2019 Honda Insight EX, 19,000 vs. $18,500. The dealer said the tires on the Honda needed to be replaced (which I knew to be true) and said when Carvana did the inspection, they possibly would reduce the quoted amount. Anyway, I ended up trading it in with the dealer. It seemed so easier.

Also in most states you get credit for sales tax, so you probably saved money. If you sold to Carvana, they'd cut you a check for $19,000. By trading to the dealer, he's reducing your total purchase price by $18,500, which is also saving you taxes on that much. For me that would be about $1100.
