• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Anyone recommend kits/brands they trust? Totally new to this, and thinking about doing the Grill and 'Telluride' lettering... Thanks in advance.

Agree. Plastidip was easy for me to work with when I did my Jeep. Go to DipYourCar - World Famous Peelable Auto Paint and get ideas of what you can do with it. Trust the instructions. The stuff really does work. This isn't an ad. This is just a user of a product recommending the product. Make sure you do at least 5 or 6 coats for durability. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I am new to this, but have a steady hand and patient, so I am sure I can figure it out and make it work :)

Please post pictures of your final product as I was thinking about this too at least for the front and rear to give my Telly a blacked-out look.

I just did my wife's lettering on her black SX. I'll post pictures later today. I think it came out great.

Wow...I love that. I might even do the grill and it's surround. Nice work.

Did you have to take the letters off

No , you spray over them then peel the excess off .............google plasti dip badges and see how it works !
Wow you make it sound easy. I am definitely going to do this.

I promise you, it's shockingly easy. Just be sure to properly clean the letters before spraying so that the dip can adhere properly. I'd go with 5 or 6 coats especially on the front letters as they will take some abuse during driving. Be sure to watch the videos in the links posted above. The best part is, if you don't like it or if you screw up, you just peel it off and try again.

Has anyone thought of doing this to the chrome trim at the bottom of the doors? Or the chrome at the bottom of the rear bumper for a more blacked out look?

Doing my letters now - mid process between coats. I’m eager to see it. Moss Green color.

I’ve got some matte black wrap to do the top and bottom of the grill in front, too. Likely do that tomorrow. Still pondering how to do the lower front air vents. Plasti-dip may be the way to go.

Nice. Post final products !!!

Turned out awesome. Here’s the back. I’ll do the wrap tomorrow and post the front. View attachment 1568
Well done. That looks sharp. Gonna do the same thing when my dark Moss SX comes in. I'm practicing on my avalanche today. I figured I'd sharpen my skills and use my trade in as a gunea pig

Nice. First time for me using the stuff, and it seems like a sweet product. Super easy to use. I did 4 coats on the rear...5 in the front (since it’ll take more of a beating. And then added a coat of glossifier for a little shine (and UV protection for fading).
