If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Prestige Package - worth it ?

Absolutely, positively, 100% YES! Mostly because of the HUD! I want to keep my eyes on the road as much as possible. I smacked a deer at night, front dead center of the car a few years ago doing 80* MPH on the KS turnpike. Looked down for a second at my speedometer and when I looked up it was there. Could have never avoided it, but I could have had a little time to brake or prep for the impact. 2006 Merc Grand Marquis, totaled over $8,000 damage. State patrol said In a lesser car, and had the hood not come up for the deer to go up and over rather than through the car, I wouldn't be here. I want that extra millisecond!
This HUD is vastly improved over the old ones that could not be customized or adjusted.
Oh yes, I also really like the automatic wipers. My wife had them in a 2002 Buick back when and I was so jealous, just a useful feature for me and they seem to work well.

That stands for Nighfall package. It's basically a new package for 2021 in which various parts are all "blacked out." Notice how my Telly's Gril and lettering, chrome bits, headlamp insides, etc., are all black.

Oh yes, thank you. I knew about this but just now learning...I'll understand the lingo soon. ;)

Do you have a Telly already or are you looking?

I drove one today. They had just one on the lot. It was a 2020 in everlasting silver/black interior. I do not want black interior and would like to see a Dark Moss in person. We are heading to a larger city this week . I called the lot and they have about 5 to look at so hoping I see colors 'in person' instead of on a piece of paper.

Any Telluride SX owners with Prestige package or SX owners wish they got Prestige package now? Is Heads up display useful? I have never used HUD and I thought it was a must have but not sure I really need it.

SX Prestige Package $2,000.00
- Head Up Display & 110V Inverter
- Nappa Leather Seat Trim
- Premium Cloth Headliner & Sun Visors
- Heated & Ventilated 2nd Row Seats
- Rain-sensing Front Windshield Wipers
If you’ve gone that far for the top model and trim, you may as well go all out. I have the Prestige and love it. The overall value you get for this Telluride is amazing, especially for the price point. Go take a look at the Lincoln Aviator and price it out to get the same features on the Telluride. You’ll have to spend over 20 thousand more.

I can certainly understand why those who spent the extra $2300 for Prestige are happy. It is a nice package to be sure, and I'm NOT knocking it nor disparaging anyone who bought that option. But I decided not to get the Prestige after weighing all the pros and cons against my personal use cases.

One factor for me was that I really wanted the Butterscotch leather with my Dark Moss NF, which is not available with the SXP. I had seen an SX with Dune Nappa and it just wasn't my taste. Just a personal preference thing.

- Heads Up Display -- I have had HUD in my Corvette for years. When I first got it I was thrilled and thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread. But the novelty has worn off for me and HUD is something I can live without. Again, it's just a personal decision - it wasn't that important to me.

- 110V Inverter -- I doubt I'll have any need for that anytime soon as my kids are all grown and the rear seats only get used very occasionally.

- Nappa Leather Seat Trim -- Nappa is nice, but the "regular" leather seats I have are quite nice also. So far I've not found myself wishing I had "Nappa" leather. I really love the Butterscotch leather and have zero complaints about the comfort of the seats.

- Premium Cloth Headliner -- Another personal preference thing. Personally I didn't care for the "premium" headliner in the SXP I saw with the Dune Nappa. I am very happy with the black headliner that comes with the Butterscotch leather (I think Butterscotch leather is the only color that comes with a regular (non-Prestige) black headliner and it really does look nice.

- Heated & Ventilated 2nd Row Seats -- If we still had school-aged kids and used the rear seats more often, this "might" have been a feature I'd have wanted (but I don't think I'd have wanted to pay for a Prestige package just for this feature).

In summary, I can understand why some folks opt for the SXP if those extra features are signifigant for them. If I had it to do all over again, I would not change a thing - I have no regrets not getting the "P" Package and feel I got exactly the car I wanted. I did get the NF package, which I debated, but glad I did as I like the way it looks on the Dark Moss. My only "slight" issue with the NF is that I think I like the regular SX wheels better.

Agree. It is a personal preference and we can justify why or why not we should or shouldn’t get it. One of the resounding reasons I opted for it was the Napa upgrade. On other premium vehicles, that upgrade alone is 4K. Some may reason you don’t need leather at all, so I get the subjectiveness of the topic, but when you are getting a 46k plus vehicle, bumping it to 48k plus is not a big difference for the overall value. For those financing it, it’s around 10 dollars more in payments a month. Just my thoughts.

How on earth is rain sensing wipers not standard on a car this new. That was standard on a eco car i had 15 years ago.

Every time I visit this forum, there is an item someone thinks should come standard. Boy, if you add them all up... Lol.

Not saying anything against the wipers. It's just that the standard Telly won't come with everything. And there's always one thing that each of us wishes for.

Funny thing, my son's GTI has rain-sensing wipers and he hates them. Too much automation for him.

On a $15k car I wouldn't expect it standard. But this is not $15k. It's should be standard like auto headlights, HBA, electric windows, reverse cams. Not like it's adding nappa leather or larger wheels. That I expect in a higher cost.

Yah, but it's pretty much a luxury item from my POV. And often - like on the similarly-priced Highlander - it's an add-on at the highest price point.

But my general point is that personally, I couldn't care less about the wipers being standard. You care. We all have our wish items.

Unless you can name 5 competitor mainstream vehicles in the same segment at the same price point that comes standard with a feature you “know it should have”, there really is no argument.

Things only become standard as time passes because the technology becomes cheaper to manufacture when the next “new high tech feature” comes out on luxury brands.

Competition is also what drives more features to become “standard”. Like when the Telluride is the first car to offer 2nd row ventilated seats as an option in ANY mainstream car and it sells like hotcakes. Expect to start seeing 2nd row ventilated seats become available in a lot more cars coming in the future.

I had to chuckle at the comment about your son hating rain sensing wipers. I ordered my first new car when I was getting ready to graduate from HS and the agreement was that as soon as I had saved half of the cost my father would cosign the loan. Put in four hard summers working as a construction laborer but finally made it as my '53 Chevy Belair gave out and I refused to do any more repair on it. The car I ordered was a 1969 Roadrunner (that I still own BTW) and I did not want to order automatic transmission, only the Hurst shifter with 4 speed and no air conditioning because those two options were either too power robbing or too much automation LOL! WOW how times have changed.

I had to look up a 1969 Roadrunner. What a beautiful beast!

My son insists on a manual transmission (it's fun, right?) but he wants Apple CarPlay and all the connectivity and the rearview camera and all the fancy stuff etc etc but rain-sensing wipers is a tech too far for him! He's salty about it. Lol. Times have changed indeed.

My high tech in the Roadrunner is the signature "BEEP BEEP" sounding horn, Air Grabber induction and the AM radio with 8 track stereo tape player. Only someone from my era will appreciate this............. But it would turn a 104 MPH in the quarter mile. Yes stick shift is fun but I grew up with them and it was the only way to get a really fast car back then and that is what the Muscle Car era was all about. That car with nearly every option added except 426 Hemi, A/C, automatic transmission MSRP a little over $3200. My dad let me negotiate the entire deal and I ended up with a deal a little shy of the $2800 mark. I handed over my personal check for about $1500, placed the order and could not wait the 5 weeks or so it took to be built in St. Louis and arrive in Pueblo, CO. Dad signed the paperwork because I wasn't 18 yet but the car had my (and dad's) name on the title. I paid gas and maintenance, and the rest of the note and my parents paid the insurance as long as I did not get tickets and kept going to school. Not my first car but my first new one, and one of the biggest thrills of my life! Sorry way off subject but that is one of the reasons I now go for all the upper end items like prestige package, been there on the other end of the spectrum.

Great story! My first car was a not very nice used Mazda 626 (manual, of course). Totally not the same as the vibe you describe here!

How many miles so far for Groot? Kelly the Telly is almost at 2,100 :)
We're up to 1300 miles. I work from home. We're socially distancing due to health issues. We have just gotten in and gone for drives. ;). Otherwise, Groot would probably just have 300 miles. :/

I've got the Prestige since I've got adult kids in the back who want everything haha. As far as the quality of the leather. Its just alright. Nothing anyone going to confuse with a Mercedes or BMW higher grade leather. A little stiff and hard for my liking.

When I bought my Corvette several years ago, I had to pay extra for manual transmission - used to be the other way around.
