  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... While I understand that some dealers want to cash-in, the level of bait and switch is getting out of hand. I get texts from dealerships telling me the car price and magically add 5K after passing me to a sales guy 15 mins into a phone call. There are also dealerships that literally display their price (msrp+doc fee) but have a tiny disclaimer at the bottom of the screen. They also refuse to discuss price over the phone or tell me that once I'm on their lot, the market adjustment fee will disappear. I guess it works for them.

What you do is, you play along until it is time to put your name down on the dotted line, you magically say you had never heard about this extra $5k or agreed to any price increase, and show them their own text. Call them liars and prepare to walk out the door right then and there… some times… you will get your way… some times.
