• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... First, I've installed the VIOFO A129 Pro Duo front dashcam and followed the wire routing recommended by Kia when installing an auto-dimming rearview mirror - namely down the widow side of the A-Pillar and then to the fuse box.

I know most say to route the wire for the rear camera behind the airbag in the A-Pillar but, looking at how the side curtain airbags actually deploy, I'm not sure that is the best procedure.

Here's the YT video of the airbags deploying in various crash tests and the side curtain airbags drop down - including the one from the A-Pillar. It looks like by going behind the airbag and then into the headliner that the wire would actually be looped around the airbag, so instead of staying out of the way it may actually result in creating a problem that was trying to be avoided.

Maybe I'm overthinking this but would be interested to have recommendations from others after actually seeing the side curtain airbags deploy.
