• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Question about UVO and navigation link

Last year, I had difficulty with the Telluride navigation as it had trouble finding POIs after my UVO subscription ended. Then I read on this forum to unlink navigation from UVO by unchecking a box in the setup, which I did, and the search got a lot better. However, after I updated the software to the current version (April 2021?), I am back to square one with the search, and the worst part is that I cannot seem to find the checkbox to unlink the navigation from UVO. Does anyone know where in the settings I can see the option to unlink UVO from Telluride navigation?

Thanks in advance!

Are you using voice commands or manually searching using the touchscreen?

If voice commands, are you using these command words?

Thank you for your response. I am using voice commands, essentially the same ones you mentioned, but it doesn't work. For example, if I search for an address, the system goes into a list of categories.

As I mentioned, it was working ok without UVO until the software update, which moved my settings to the guest, and I had to create a new user. If I switch to the guest, as far as I can tell, everything seems to work as before, but that is not a solution. I should be able to de-link UVO from navigation for all users,

I know others also had all their presets and saved configs moved to the guest user.

In my case when updating to the April 2021 version everything was completely lost, even in the Guest profile.

When I made my user profile, my navigation and voice commands work fine. I also have expired UVO service.

Maybe if you reset or reset and reinstall the map updates, all your user profiles might work the same?

I am not sure what you meant by resetting the map. As for reinstalling, I have heard that there is a new update coming up in a few days, and I plan on installing it. Not sure if it is just a map update or a system update as well. However, I am still wondering if there is a setting not to use UVO on the current version for the navigation. Thanks again!

The only selectable option to disable UVO network search was before the purple them update in the Voice Recognition settings.

Resetting all settings option is in General Settings. Or basically perform the update again after you reset all settings. Since we are so close to the release of the new update, might as well wait for it.

I have the same issue with the voice commands only taking me to POI. I posted about it a long while back.

I just use Apple Maps now via CarPlay since the maps from Apple are finally at an acceptable level.

Hoping the new updated kia maps address the POI issue as I really like having the directions show in the HUD.

Do we know what changes are in the new update next week?
I was told map updates and radio screen, but not sure if they will change the current radio tubes look or the previous 3 separate screens

Considering Korea is about half a day ahead of the US, the download link might become available mid-day today.

Maybe I will take one for the team and download/install.

Otherwise, I have not seen a change log yet.

I also use Google Maps as the car navigation is unusable, but my frustration is that after spending this kind of money, I should be able to use the built-in navigation without paying for an additional subscription.

I can’t use my navigation at all unless I go home since that is a saved address. $48,000+ and the navigation is a waste. UVO expired back in September. I haven’t updated my screen either. I think the new version looks stupid.
