• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Rain possibly caused backup radar to engage safety automatic braking?

OP, I’ve had that happen in pouring rain as well. The radar/ultrasonic sensors think something is behind you when there’s not. When it happened to me it wasn’t as severe as your incident…it let me back out after the initial auto braking. It’s normal and I imagine a Kia’s RAB isn’t as advanced as say a Mercedes. I’ve also had it happen in the snow/freezing rain when the sensors were icing over. I just disabled RAB until I was able to clear all the sensors off.
