• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... What height setting do y’all use to clear your sectional garage door? Is one of the lower settings necessary?

I have no issue with leaving it on the highest setting. But depending on your garage, you may need a different setting.

On mine there is a procedure for setting the max height. I just pulled the car into the garage and fiddled with the setting until I got the clearance I wanted.

From the manual:

User height setting
1. Position the liftgate manually to the
height you prefer.
2. Press the power liftgate open/close
button located inside the liftgate for
more than 3 seconds.
If 'User Height Setting' is selected for
the power liftgate opening height, the
power liftgate will automatically open
to the height manually set by you.

We have ours at full height and that is even with a relatively low garage ceiling - around 7 feet. It is very easy to change, so you can readily adapt yours to your own requirements.
