• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Remote start

Ordered non-take over with smart phone app. Hoping the app is better than UVO. It is supposed to arrive Friday. Thanks @bogie for running with this.

Mine's due Friday as well...

Will share instructions.

Mine was delivered today, I will installed it as soon as I get home and will let you know the results.

Takeover or No Takeover?

Takeover or No Takeover?
No Takeover.

Just install it. Directions are straight forward. Took about 30 minutes. I didn't remove the panel behind the glove box. It was easier to just remove lower panel and reach under. I can make an video if anyone have issues. But overall it was easy.

And does it do everything you wanted? Satisfied?

Thank you :-)

Thanks for the insight about the panel! A video would be great if you have the time. I messaged accessorides about some questions and they said that a YouTube install video was coming soon! They told me that accessories like heated seats would not be turned on like you can do via UVO but I think worth the trade off.

Glad to hear positive results. Thanks @CJ_313!
Now the question is, who will be the first to report performance and install feedback for the 2-wire takeover? 😉

How’s the app and what all can it do for those that got the app version?

I’d like takeover but would like to see instructions or a video first before purchasing. Anyone gotten takeover yet?

I just wish 2020 owners could have it installed by Kia as it was on some 2020 models (ie UAE). I had it for 12 years on 4 different jeeps and with the native remote start the seats would turn on too (at least I imagine they would). Guess you can't have everything.

You mean heared steering wheel and defrost controls with the app? I don’t think heated seat control is even an option on the kia access app at least since 2020.

But if you have an SX AWD, the seat heating/ventilation can be automatically controlled by the climate control anyways. So a third party remote start can still technically control the heated seating theoretically.

Official video out. Non-takeover plug and play looks so... easy. 👍
