• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Retrofit EX with SX LED headlights

Mmm you can’t do the swap without having the proper harness with the new connectors. So I would say no. How much did you spend on both SX lights?
I got the headlights a long time ago on eBay. Was like 800. That’s when I first saw this thread. I downloaded the pin pictures and stuff though. My friend might give it a try if I don’t get a respond but I emailed the guy.

Oh okay. I finally got what you were talking about. Yeah, I'd be upset if I bought the lights and now have no way to connect them. It's a shame he doesn't respond anymore. I'm sure there is good money to be made! If he ever gets back, I will have to buy the harness before the SUV since apparently he never returns!

I have ordered enough parts (to include correctly sized and colored wire) to make a few sets. They are tedious and time consuming to build so price will be ~$100 for a set but with them all you’d need to do to install SX headlamps is unplug and remove your old ones, install the SX headlamps, and plug them in. Done.
I am interested in your custom pins. Are they still for sale? If so please contact me @ twistaj@aol.com. please put telluride in subject so i can find.
thanks in advance.

In case anyone was wondering, I got a hold of Machtig. He stated he was too busy to make anymore.

I qoute, "Not at this time. Too many other irons in the fire right now."

I made sure to let him know several people would be purchasing. Anyways, don't hold your breath guys and girls. The retrofit is pretty much dead unless someone else can figure out how to make the harness.

Thanks for the update

Another person here ready to buy...

Still waiting for my telluride to arrive. Probably going to be a few more months but I plan on making some harnesses once my vehicle comes in and doing the headlight swap. I already have all of the connectors and the voltage regulators. I can pretty much follow the pics posted previously for the pin connectors but if anyone has a service manual with the halogen and led headlight pin connections I’d greatly appreciate it if someone posted them. Once I get it to work I’d consider making some to sell. But…it’s probably not going to be until at least the new year.

I waited this long. Let me know when you get it going. I will buy.

I would be interested in purchasing as well if you ever get around to it :)

Same - alternatively, if anyone who's sourced all the parts, figured out the pinout, and successfully built the harness could share some direct links to what's needed, it would be a huge help to the DIYers capable of making one.

edit: Think I found the connectors on Ali. These are pre-crimped, but searching for part # brings up the DIY version. I have these on order, slow boat from China so delivery next month.

For the flickering, I am going to test these instead of the other voltage regulator from past posts: Pulse Width Modulation Harnesses HID/LED | Xenon Depot XD.H010

Looking at the pinouts that Jma9 posted, a relay might be needed to activate the high beam LED. I don't feel comfortable driving the LED high beam off the high beam solenoid pin.

I'll update if I'm able to get this working, with part numbers and instructions.

My SX LED headlights came in. Ordered on eBay. Passenger side is perfect, drivers side looks brand new but the DRL/turn signal does not stay lit more than 3 seconds. Bench tested at 12v - swapped LED drivers and still broken. I'd advise anyone trying this to bench test the lights as soon as they are delivered.

The pin out for the LED harness in post #190 is correct. Was confused about what 'position' lights meant - that's just the DRL in low output mode when the main beam turns on.

Were you able to get a suitable test with the aforementioned hardware you listed in the precious post? I know you mentioned one of the LED drivers being broken upon delivery, but I was mostly curious about the efficacy of the listed parts.

Edit: I am mostly curious about whether or not the PWM module addressed the flickering in lieu of the voltage regulator that machtig used.

Waiting on the car, delivery in mid December lol though I'm 90% sure it will solve the issue. The LED drivers on the headlights were lighting down to around 10v, so it's not on that end. It's most likely a bulb test from the BCM, which these modules are commonly used to resolve on a lot of different models from different manufacturers.
