• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Does anyone ever hear robotic noises when their Telluride is parked and off? I am in my garage often, and out of the blue, I will hear robotic or electronic noises coming from my Telluride. It’s is subtle and quick. I was wondering if anyone else noticed this and if so, does anyone know what it is?

If I stop the engine and stay in the car I hear something after few minutes, this will repeat until I get out or restart. Haven’t heard anything weird from outside the car. If you have the welcome option on, when the key fob is close enough the mirror will unfold and of course there is subtle sound.

Thanks. No. In my case, the key fob is in the house. It’s sounds kinda cool. Almost like a robot moving its arm or turning its head. I know it sound crazy.....and honestly I am not worried about it, I just keep wondering what it’s doing. The sounds are very infrequent, but noticeable.

Might be the BCM “waking up” for a self check

That would make sense to me. BCM or Body Control Module is like a CPU. And the noises I am describing sound like this could be it. Thanks

Do you also sometimes, out of the blue, hear voices when no one else is around?

Are you in my TV set 🤪?

By the way i dont hear the Telly (or my stinger for that matter) making any electronic noises when they are off in the garage...

My Cruze does it but I haven’t heard the Telly make any noises. I had a GMC Acadia that did the self test; never heard it but sometimes the BCM wouldn’t shut off and over time would drain the battery.

Again. It’s very subtle and infrequent. I really think @qwikhit is correct. It makes sense that BCM is checking systems since that is its function.

I’m leery of modules waking and updating themselves and not shutting off. I assume the Telly does this, but I haven’t “heard” it to this point. Parasitic draw and a dead battery are no fun; at least this vehicle is push button start so the ignition key doesn’t get locked in the ignition when the battery fails to start the car. That could be a bad day depending on when and where it happens

This thread is hilarious. I now want to hang out in my sub-zero garage and wait for my Telly to talk to me.
You’re in luck. Only the Everlasting Silver (Grey) talks

Interesting that you say this, because in other posts that I have read, there have been others who have let their Telly’s sit for long periods of time without starting them have found their batteries dead.

I’ve also been thinking about the life of the factory battery. I assume it’s an AGM type battery because of all the electronics but I would assume it’s not “the best” battery on the shelf. I need to look at the battery and do some digging. These vehicles now a days are so electronic dependent that letting them sit can be bad. The Telly is my wife daily driver and mostly highway miles so the alternator is giving the battery fresh power daily.

Lexus, and I'm sure many other makes, do a "fuel evaporation check" after the car has been turned off for a while. Sometimes after 5+ hours. It may be something similar
