• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Running board / side steps self install tips

Do you have to cut any of the body side molting to install these? Many aftermarket running boards say you need to cut out pcs. of the black cladding! Also, Kia needs to offer a Nighfall Addition running board set, all black!
there is nothing you have to cut~ just simple unclip and assemble side steps~

Well, I bought my TR-SXP last month but didn't have much time for put some accessories.
After I did PPF from PDX Wraps, I put mud guards and side steps / running board today.

Took me several hours!! Once you get onto it, I am pretty sure that everyone could do it easily.
I am going to post several photos that I took while I was putting them.

Just in case, if you plans to put them by yourself, please double check you have right tools.
Feel free to ask me any questions.

I just purchased some OEM boards today. Going to try to put them on myself. Do you have any suggestions on what to do first?

The instructions that were posted say that you discard the rocker panels in order to mount the running boards. Is this the case? My SX came with running boards and I want to take them off but I don’t have any other extra rocker panels laying around.

Got my boards on!
Love it!!! Makes it look more premium.

Tyler from Hyundai in Medicine Hat AB is willing to order the black running boards and ship them to the US. The part number is S9H37AP000. He quoted the retail price on the boards and said the freight would vary based on where it is going. I thought the total price was reasonable (don't forget the conversion rate) and I would purchase from him, but the wife put the kibosh on due to what she envisions it looking like. We're going to wait and see how the kids handle getting in and out.

Which state do you live and how much did he quote you on shipping?

I only paid $750 the OME running boards. I ordered my boards from the KIA dealership in Atlanta. If anyone is interested in the name of the dealership please let me know.

Looks great! Did you order it from Tyler at Hyundai per the previous post? How long did it take to get them and cost? Thanks.

I took my running boards off. My question is: do I need to buy a replacement rocker panel piece or does it detach from the running board?

You'll need to purchase the parts. Post a wanted thread in the classifieds. You might find someone local that installed the running boards after purchase who will have take offs.

Or if you are not keeping your take off running boards - perhaps strike up a trade...
