• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just found this little rust bubble forming on my r/r door jam. Vehicle has 42000km. I do spray and wipe door jams after washes most times. Any one else run into rust on their telluride? Anyone has have any rust issues on modern Kias in general? This is my first Kia. I have seen the dealer and they have to pass it up the line to find out it warranty or not.

Sorry it’s a terrible picture to begin with. It is definitely not a spot weld. Driver side does not have it.

If it was rust under the paint, the paint would bubble out not in. Also not a perfect circle.

@c.hanky:

Are you sure that's rust?

I had to convert 42,000 kilometers to 26,097.59 miles.

Just curious, how long have you had the Telly to get to 42K km?

I've heard that Kia's paint job ain't the thickest but unless something went through the clear coat + paint layers, how is rust forming there?

Is there something causing uneven wear, specifically where you see the "bubble"?

I didn’t see any rust 🤷‍♂️

Rust warranties generally require rust to perforate all the way through the metal so this wouldn’t count even if it is rust.

The paint is bubbling out not in. To me it indicates rust. But I am not expert on body work by any means. I have had it since July 2019. It’s the family vehicle and had a road trip to Cali last year. There is no signs of wear marks, chips or scratches anywhere around the effected area. There is also a smaller spot above the pictured spot. It’s in kias hands right now so I will have to wait to see what they say.

Here is the beat picture I can get. That’s a dog hair not a scratch below.
