  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Been following the forum for a bit, just posting to say Hey. I sold and downsized temporarily from an Audi Q7 that was getting up in years and miles. Loved that ride, though for camping trips it was just a bit too small. Been looking at the Telluride as my future replacement.

Wow Q7 to Telluride. How come not another Q7?

Honestly, I loved the Q7. Mine was pretty reliable, but maintenance costs were high. Full set of brakes plus new tires every 2 years was on the expensive side of things. The other thing is that for long trips (we like to camp a couple of times per year) space was tight even with a roof box. I really like the look of the Telluride, plus the added space and lower maintenance costs are all big plusses. Even though I may give up some luxury and brand cachet, those things are a little less important to me now.

I'm really looking forward to regular gas for the first time in 15 years, too. I don't think I can ever bring myself to pay luxury car prices again for what mainstream cars are doing these days. My wife's Mazda is nicer than my BMW, has more options, is dirt cheap to maintain, and never breaks. I bet that Q7 is 50% more money, and you'd still have to pay extra for things that are standard on the Telluride. There's a reason people are paying 10k over sticker in some places.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us! I think you'll find the Telluride is a great alternative to the Audi Q7 without the high maintenance costs...

Yes, exactly what I am hoping for. Narrowing down details and reaching out to some local dealers.

Even though I "could" run the Audi on regular, it didn't seem to love it. Life has taken some dramatic changes as of late, so I think overall the Telly is my most versatile option. Plus it's great to look at

I calculated that I save up to $10 per tank because my Telluride doesn’t demand 92 like the Acura did. Plus the Telluride has better fuel economy than the Acura.

Another cost is insurance. The Q7 is nearly 2x the premium on a Telluride. That is not insignificant.

I may return to a luxury brand at some point, but the Telluride is plenty of comfort/luxe for my family. There are few things I miss. I think you’ll find the same. Good luck shopping!
