Settings default every time I turn on Telluride

New owner here! Bought a 2022 EX in Nov ‘21 and generally really like Telly.

One thing that I cannot quite understand or figure out is that all settings seem to reset back to default when I turn off the car. For example, if I have seat heaters on, they will be off when I turn on the car. Same with the radio station, and drive mode.

Just kind of annoying to re-customize everything each time I get into the car. Is there something glaring that I am missing?

The seat heaters cycle through their different levels every 30 mins or so until they eventually turn off on their own. It does this automatically to prevent burns. It would be pretty rare to find a vehicle that doesn’t reset its seat heater to off when the engine is turned off.

For drive modes, if you turn off the car in comfort, smart, or eco, it will stay in that mode when you restart the car. If you turn off the car in sport or snow, it will default back to comfort the next time you turn on the car.

I can’t specifically comment about radio since I never use the radio, but the car should always resume the audio mode that was on when the car was turned off. That would definitely be true for radio stations (as in you shouldn’t turn off with one channel on and turn it on to a different station). Only exception there would be if you changed driver profiles.

I agree about the annoyance of everything resetting to default settings each time the car is turned off. I set the drive option to snow; I drive through the snow to the grocery store, and when I get back in the car it's defaulted back to comfort. Same for radio. Same for steering wheel heater. Everything resets. How can I change the default settings? I can't find it in the manual.

Yes! Radio, heater, drive mode.. all seem to have mind of their own..

Radio won’t even remember the Sirius station I was on when I click over to FM then back to Sirius
