Some time go, I found a bolt in my driveway and I assumed someone working on my house at the time had dropped it. Fast forward to this weekend, and I'm investigating a rattle by looking under the rear of the vehicle. I see these two threaded holes on some structure (I'm not a car guy) on the driver side aft of the rear tire. I don't know if not having these bolts in place is causing my rattle, but it seems like threaded holes should have bolts in there. Thoughts?

Look under someone else's Telly or take it to the dealer and have them look at it. If I understand the pix correctly, I'd guess that the threaded holes might be for mounting a trailer hitch. Depending on what you find out, I'd seriously consider gooping some bolts with anti-seize compound and using them to plug the holes and protect the threads from corrosion. You might need those threads some day!

My suggestion, above, was to plug those holes with bolts well coated with anti-seize compound, trying to protect the threads against being damaged by future rust. No surprise the factory did not do this as their manufacturing line is not oriented to preventative maintenance. Worst case the OP is out for a few bucks that he did not need to spend. Best case is pristine threads when he or someone in the future wants to install a hitch.
Then there is still the mystery of the bolt he found since, apparently, it did not fall out of one of these threaded holes.
