• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... My wife and I are a one car family and we'll be moving from a Jetta to a Telluride when it arrives. She has never driven a large vehicle exclusively (similar stuff from time to time for family) and she's a bit worried about having to get used to it; parking lots and stuff concern her. I've driven all kinds of stuff and I'm not worried at all; don't think she should be either. Does anyone else have a similar experience they can share about that transition for them or a loved one?

Came from a smaller 2 row suv to the 3 row telluride and I have to say no issues at all in the parking lots. It Also should put her mind at ease with all the camera views she can use to help. My wife uses the 360 view camera all the time when parking so she can line up perfect in between the painted lines. Plenty of sensors to alert too of people or cars in movement near by. Best thing to do is when you first get it sit in the driveway and learn all the fancy new tech and even go to an empty parking lot and practice. I’m sure she will get used to fast and fall in love with it.

We had a prius before and the Telluride rides more like a sedan than a bulky suv. It's no Suburban. You guys should be fine. Nice smooth ride if you haven't test driven one yet. 👌

@Nightsky93 taking the time to learn the tech is a great recommendation. That will help when I get her in a lot to test driving around. I really think she'll be fine but the intentional approach to a few things might help her feel comfortable.

@Familyman20, Prius to Telluride is a pretty big change. I haven't driven a Telluride, I did test the Atlas a while back and I'm sure they have similar ride feel. Maybe a little more power in the Telluride. I'm ready to get my hands on it and give it a nice long drive around the blue ridge.

Thanks!

Wife went from a 2012 Civic to Telly. She was worried too and in the first few weeks she wanted her CIVIC back, but now she's super comfortable with the Telly. One thing I agree with her on, in the beginning the overhead camera, and all the sensors are a little overwhelming; so learning that intentionally and ahead of time will help her get more comfortable quickly.

Thanks for the input, that's very close to my situation. We've already talked about the tech and taking the time to learn it. Hopefully she'll come around quickly.

The Telluride is larger than my previous SUV. The feature that has been most helpful to me is the lane keep assistance. Because it guides the vehicle between the stripes, it helps me understand where I should be to keep centered in the lane… it’s a bit left of what I’m used to. I know I would’ve eventually figured out how to center the new car, but I’ll gladly accept help. Hope this helps!
