• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Is anyone having issues with the smart cruise control suddenly hitting the brakes hard when there is no vehicle ahead?

If there is absolutely nothing in front of your KT as you stated, it should not be suddenly hitting the brakes hard. It's malfunctioning. Take it to the dealer.

Also assuming no weather or sun glare (just looking for any weather scenarios) that may have been affecting you?

I have used the smart cruise control extensively on a 1600mile trip - mostly highways with zero issues. Worked as described in the manual.
Check for any potential obstructions to the front radar such as loose license plate/paper/holder.

Z.
