Snow White Pearl vs Glacier White Pearl

My wife and I just placed an order for a 2021 Telluride SX. Our dealer didn't seem to be informed about the change from SWP to GWP for the 2021 model year. They told us that GWP was only for the NE option... which we did NOT select.

Are they wrong, and will my build sheet will show GWP when it finally comes through? Also being that this is the first time we've ever ordered a vehicle, what should I be asking for in terms of confirmation?

Just the Kdealer request number, and when the vehicle will be entered into KFOS? Our sales rep told us that they don't give any type of confirmation, other than the VIN once they receive it.
which dealer? I would avoid them if you can. There are better dealers out there depending on where you live.

I wonder which dealer is that who is not willing to provide any info especially if you made a custom order with them. GWP is available for all trims replacing SWP. If you have a refundable deposit with them, I would suggest you to look for another better dealer who is more transparent with you with the process.

The dealer could be mixed up: Wolf Gray is only available with Nightfall.

GWP is available for all Telluride trims
I figured that was the case. I didn’t get the impression that the sales rep I was working with had been there long, and honestly I didn’t have time to argue with them on the phone about it. Lol.

As long as they know it’s supposed to be white then I’m good.

I live in Houston, TX but we decided to place our order through Fort Bend Kia which is further out for three main reasons:

1. Other dealers weren’t offering to order one
2. The other dealers were also marking up SX models by $6k
3. Fort Bend Kia told us we’d only pay MSRP + Tax, Title, License. (they don’t have any hidden fees or dealer addons like paint protection, etc.)

Reading this though makes me think I should have asked for more information. Still can I guess, but maybe need to speak with the GM instead of the sales rep.

There are quite a number of people here on this forum who have ordered through Fort Bend Kia because they sell at MSRP. You will definitely find valuable information here on this forum and maybe you can surprise your sales rep with your knowledge of Telluride :D.

Congratulations on your order 🥳!

Yea you should definitely talk to the sales manager. At my dealership, Peak Kia North in Colorado, the sales rep barely responded to my questions and wouldn't know much info. Usually these sales reps don't just deal with Tellurides but all other models and at some dealerships, other brands as well. However, the sales manager was the one inputting everything into KFOS/Kdealer and so he had all the answers. Now I mostly communicate directly with the manager. So ask to talk to the sales manager in charge of Telluride orders

Thanks Mavrx, appreciate the suggestion. I’ll definitely do that if I don’t hear anything soon.

Hi. We were planning on ordering a Telluride in Snow White Pearl. But I’ve seen on this forum that Snow White is being replaced by Glacier White for 2021. Anyone know what the difference is?
No they offer both whites. I've seen both. Snow white is a brighter pure white and Glacier white is more pearl iradescent I would say.

Kia.com just updated to the 2021 and both colors are included... so what really is the difference?
The snow white pearl is more of a bright white and the Glacier white pearl is more of a pearl iridescent color I would say. Not as white.

Hi everyone, longtime listener, first time caller.

We became interested in the Telluride this spring and stumbled upon the Telluride Forum website. Been very informative for me. We just put a deposit down on a 2021 White EXP w/NE. I'm not expecting to even have a VIN/Order# for 1-2 months and realistically hope to have delivery by end of year.

I just found this video today. The caption on the YouTube video says Snow White Pearl but I'd assume because it's a 2021 that the color is really GWP. Even my sales guy this week said GWP is just a rename of SWP so I'm not convinced the dealer network is very informed on this.

If you read from say post 100 onwards you’ll find some good info. SWP Production was finished on 8/25. There may still be some 2021 SWP out there for sale but there is no more SWP being produced. Only GWP is being produced since that date and going forward.

Post 141 in this thread has a GWP next to a SWP so you can see the difference.

Hmmmm just went to the dealer yesterday and he said it's available in both whites.

My dealer just told me that the GWP has a sort of silvery flake to it vs. the SWP being plain white.
I've seen both in person. Snow White is a bit more off-white with more sparkles, and Glacier White is a whiter white with less sparkles. I recommend you check out the dealer...you can look at other KIA's on the lot too as the colors will have the same names (if a Telluride is not available).
