• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Doing my homework....reading the online version of the owners' manual before I get the car! That being said...... Section 6, pg.17 says this about the location of the spare:
"Your spare tire is stored underneath the back of your vehicle, directly below the right sliding door." HUH? Sounds to me like they are talking about a van??? Just curious where is the spare and how do you access it? Thanks....

Howdy,
Really?
Open the lift gate
lift the little handle latch
lift out the bottom panel
you have found the spare tire.

For the SX (and I can't imagine other trim levels are different) - open the rear hatch, open the underfloor storage compartment, then the rest of the instructions on 6-17 and 6-18 are correct.

Just strike the "directly below the right sliding door" from the sentence.

You'll also notice many of the illustrations are incomplete in the owners manual...

Thanks.....that's what I figured, I wonder if the "incomplete illustrations" are just an issue with the electronic copy? All will be answered when mine arrives!:)

How do you actually open the compartment to get to the spare tire? I tried the latch and I could not pull it open. Where are the wheel locks located?
Thanks,

The tools should be on the luggage storage compartment on the left side of the trunk.

After you lift the larger luggage floor cover in the middle of the trunk there is supposed to be a plastic bolt cover. In the manual it just says to remove this cover and use the provided tools to lower the spare tire turning counterclockwise. It doesn’t specify how to remove the plastic bolt cover.

If you don’t own the US model it may also be worth checking below the car to see if your version comes with a spare tire. Not all international models do.

Well said!!
